The Iconic Santorini is a stunning boutique cave hotel carved into the hillside of Santorini. This charming property boasts stunning Aegean Sea views from the peaceful village of Imerovigli, a short distance from the infamous sunsets of Oia.
Nestled into the cliffs overlooking Santorini’s magnificent caldera, in the picturesque village of Imerovigli, the Iconic Santorini boutique hotel offers a charming home-away-from-home in the natural caves which once formed part of the village bakery.
Each of the hotel’s 24 cave rooms and suites have been elegantly finished with smooth white walls, and carefully furnished with light, natural tones and colourful textiles. Each room has its own outdoor area with table, chairs and two sunbeds, providing a wonderful breakfast spot each morning, and the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beautiful caldera views.
The Pergola Restaurant offers a daily changing menu which is prepared from ingredients bought fresh from the market, and guests are even able to request specific dishes in advance to create a fully personalised service. Guests will enjoy a delicious breakfast, served daily to their personal outdoor seating area, and freshly prepared Greek snacks can be requested throughout the day to be served to the terraces or the pool area.
The hotel’s infinity pool is the perfect place to relax with wonderful views out over the sparkling Aegean Sea. The hotel also boasts a small gym, treatment room and spa plunge pool for the use of those booking a treatment.
Imerovigli’s location towards the centre of Santorini’s caldera provides views of both Oia to the north and Fira to the south. This peaceful village provides a welcome contrast from the bustling streets of Oia and Fira, whilst still being within a short taxi ride of both. For the more active, Oia and Fira are also accessible on foot along the beautiful walking path which runs along the coast of the caldera, and Skaros, a dramatic rocky outcrop located just in front of the hotel, can easily be climbed from here.
There are 24 rooms at the Iconic Santorini, each of which is unique in its size and layout, and made up of the natural caves carved into the cliffs of Santorini’s caldera. Light, natural tones have been used, which, combined with the spots of colour in the textiled furnishings, create a wonderful cosy feel, and a true home away from home.
Children over the age of 14 are welcome to stay at Iconic Santorini.
The Pergola Restaurant at Iconic Santorini serves traditional Santorini cuisine, served in the beautiful pool-side setting. Reservations for dinner are required before 2pm each day to give the chef enough time to buy the ingredients from the market, and if there is a specific dish which you would like, the chef can often be flexible with the menu. There are also several private dining areas available for special romantic occasions. Each morning your breakfast will be served to your personal outdoor seating area.
Iconic Santorini offers a variety of spa treatments for guests which take place in their small treatment room. Those guests who book a treatment are also able to use the hotel’s spa plunge pool. All guests have access to the small gym.
For those looking to venture further afield, the concierge can arrange a variety of excursions, including boat trips, tours of the ancient archaeological site at Akrotiri, beach visits and wine tours.
From the hotel, it is also very easy to join the walking trail which runs along the coast of the caldera linking Fira and Oia. This is a delightful walk with beautiful views for those feeling a little more active.
