This is a great option for those families wanting an activity-based vacation but also keen to factor in some time out. Beginning in exciting Bangkok, attractions include heading to a temple to hear the monk’s morning chant before wandering down to the market packed with locals buying and selling. Next, make your way to Elephant Hills camp, children and adults alike will love the sense of adventure here. Your days will be action packed, you'll always have something to do and see. But the biggest highlight of any trip here is the elephant experience. After a busy few days your family will be ready for some relaxation which is what you can do at Pimalai on Koh Lanta, just lie on the sandy beach with a good book and a drink in hand!

Family Ecuador and Galapagos Islands Adventure

Begin your family adventure in Quito. Here you will find an abundance of activities to keep children and teenagers occupied; take the ‘El Teleferico’ cable car and feel like you are on top of the world or for thrill-seekers, head to Cotopaxi Volcano, for mountain biking . The next stop on your journey is the Amazon. Venture along forest trails, all the while looking out for the wildlife that lives within the tree canopy. Then, you’re off to the magical Galapagos Islands. Italian Villa Retreat

Borgo Egnazia's 30 villas all have three bedrooms, perfect for traveling with the entire family. Outside, each villa features a garden, private pool, wrap around balconies and a roof terrace. For larger groups it is also possible to take two villas side by side. For younger children Borgo has a kids club and older children will be entertained at the Tarantari & Marinai Club, featuring a games room with ping pong, air hockey and video games. While younger members of the family are being occupied, adults can visit the local fishing village of Savelletri, play a round on the championship golf course, or take a cookery lesson. And for the whole family, Borgo has tennis courts, 4 outdoor pools, a football pitch and a sandy beach.

A Safari House fit for a celebration

This is the most perfect place for a group or family to celebrate a special occasion. The house stands on the banks of the magical Chongwe River, close to the Zambezi, with a sensational view of the dramatic mountainous escarpment beyond. Many animals come to the Chongwe River to drink, and from the deck the game viewing can be as good as any safari activity. As the House is booked out privately, your days are yours to do as you wish - perhaps choose to get up early and explore the park, take a full day drive into the furthest reaches - or enjoy a lazy morning by the pool before trying your hand at fishing in the mighty Zambezi, home of the Tiger fish. Sri Lanka for Teens

Sri Lanka packs a punch when it comes to the variety of the experiences on offer – and we know what sort of activities teenagers love to do (and tell all their friends about!). We realize that they might not be great fans of an endless string of ancient sites and temples, so this itinerary is more about seeing local life, getting out and about and uncovering the hidden Sri Lanka with lots of activities to keep them occupied, before ending on the beach. While in Sri Lanka, venture out in search of leopards, spend the afternoon kayaking on the nearby lake or jump into tuk tuks and head off to Paramakanda Temple. Then, the whole family will undoubtedly be wanting some beach time and we suggest heading to Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort.

Costa Rica Teen Adventure

This family adventure will take you through the lush green wilderness of the rainforest down to the mangrove swamps, swinging you up to the volcanic plains of the north before ending with a splash of relaxation on the sun-kissed beaches of the Pacific Coast. You and your family will begin with a rafting adventure along the infamous Pacuare River, you’ll arrive at the beautiful Pacuare Lodge. The most fantastic array of activities are on offer here, from horse riding and hiking, to zip wiring and high-fiving a sloth! Then, it is time for some real adrenaline inducing activities in the Arenal area. Here your days will be filled with extreme ziplining, quadbiking, volcano hiking and waterfall rappelling. Speed around Goodwood Motor Circuit in a classic racing car or take to the skies in your own private flying lesson, or for something slower-paced enjoy a round of golf on one of the estate's Championship courses.

Much needed beach time in Brazil

Villas de Trancoso with its privileged, unspoiled beach location provides the perfect retreat for friends and family set amongst lush tropical gardens. Each spacious villa has its very own private deck or outdoor lounge area relaxing. The beautifully landscaped gardens surround the hotel’s marble swimming pool and there is a small restaurant and bar serving international and Brazilian cuisine such as Moqueca, a classic seafood stew in coconut sauce which is a must-try when in Bahia. There are miles of golden sand beaches to be enjoyed and longer walks will bring you to river estuaries which form pools of clear water at low tide. Other activities include body surfing, cycling, riding and kayaking, there is also a world-class golf course overlooking the ocean.

Leobo Reserve is fantastic for groups and families alike and what makes Leobo unique is that the reserve is rented out on an exclusive basis only. It is your playground for the duration of your stay and what a playground it is. Get under the skin of Morocco as you discover the country's fascinating history and exotic culture in its bustling, lively cities and authentic villages. After a stay in Casablanca, venture north to Chefchaouen, Morocco's blue city, and certainly one of its most picturesque. Continue onto Fes, this is where you’ll find the authentic, traditional Morocco.
