Our Favourite Beaches

From pink hued sand in Crete to a rustic and remote stretch of sand on Brazil's northern coast, below are our favourite beaches from across the globe.

Our Favourite Beaches

Carlisle Bay, Antigua

Why the beach is epic: A horseshoe bay with the hotel hugging the curve of the beach; plus, there is a host of water sports and other activities that make the most of the turquoise waters and golden sands. Carlisle Bay looks out to the west so you will also have a front-row seat for some stunning sunsets. This is the quintessential Caribbean beach retreat that should be at the top of anyone’s bucket list.

Anse Lazio, Praslin, Seychelles

Why the beach is epic: Imagine the whitest, powder soft sand in one of the most Jaw droppingly stunning locations on earth; imagine the Granitic cliffs of the Seychelles descending into the Indian Ocean with a thin sliver of sand that slopes gently into the water. The Seychelles wins on sustainability too, limiting visitor numbers and giving over nearly half of its land mass to conservation means that this is one of the most untouched, cared for and naturally beautiful places on earth.

COMO Maalifushi, Maldives

Why the beach is epic: In a destination that is not short of incredible beaches, COMO Maalifushi really raises the bar. Located in the south of the Maldives, and the only resort in the Thaa atoll, Maalifushi is the classic desert island experience. With world beating service and accommodation, the platinum white sands, and incredible diving available on site, Maalifushi has to be near the top of any serious beach junkies bucket list.

Soliman Bay, Mexico

Why the beach is epic: Powdery sand, glassy waters, coral reef right out front for epic snorkelling and you can walk out for miles. It’s also isolated from the Tulum madness and has a very laidback vibe. You are also just a short walk from a great local seafood restaurant for catch of the day informal dining. In short, heaven.

Jericoacoara, Praia Principal, Brazil

Why the beach is epic: One of the world’s top kite and windsurf spots in this impressive and isolated corner of Brazil. The town was once a fishing village, now slightly hippie, laidback vibe with no streetlights and no paved roads (very barefoot). The journey in is as epic as the location, accessed by dune buggy or 4x4 across sand dunes right on the coast.

Benguerra Island, Mozambique

Why the beach is epic: An idyllic private white sandy beach on an unspoilt island within a Marine National Park. Deserted beaches of pure white sand that extend for miles, fantastic diving, and only accessible by helicopter. Azura has also recently launched the Peri-Peri Beach Club, a trendy beach-front bar which offers a range of activities including an ocean facing swimming pool, personal grills where guests can sizzle their own seafood and on selected nights an open-air cinema.

Nihiwatu Beach, Indonesia

Why the beach is epic: With lush jungle on one side and an exclusive beach and Indian Ocean stretching out as far as the eye can see on the other, Nihiwatu Beach is enticing o say the least. Its stunning two and half kilometres of beachfront are protected by headlands that ensure total exclusivity and it's also home to some of the world’s best surfing waves. This idyllic setting is pristine, romantic and endlessly peaceful.

Pansea Beach, Thailand

Why the beach is epic: Pansea Beach is Phuket’s hidden gem. Only easily accessible from the two properties nearby, it has the look and feel of a private beach. Located on Phuket’s west coast, the wide golden sands are lapped by the gentle turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. For those looking for a quiet spot to relax, enjoy the sunsets and fabulous snorkelling, Pansea Beach will not disappoint.

Elafonisi Beach, Crete

Why the beach is epic: Not only does it have amazingly clear turquoise water, but also pink sand! Think of Caribbean waters and that is what you will find here at Elafonisi Beach: shallow, warm lagoons and unbelievably clear water where you can easily while away the day. This is a beach to dream about and certainly a must visit whilst you are in Crete.

Eagles Palace Beach, Greece

Why the beach is epic: Shallow clear waters, gently lapping over soft white sands, stunning views and climate, that is why you can only but relax on this Blue Flag beach, one of the most beautiful in Halkidiki. Perfect for babies and toddlers to paddle and to top it all off bar service on the beach couldn't be easier - you just press a button on your umbrella table.

Havelock Island, Andaman Islands

Few people have heard of the Andaman Islands, located between India and Burma. It is for this reason that they remain an undiscovered paradise, offering turquoise blue waters, and white sandy beaches. There are 572 tropical islands, indigenous tribal cultures and white sandy beaches, all waiting to be explored. The diving here is remarkable, and for those wanting a Robinson Crusoe barefoot escape, this destination is ideal.
