Rorke's Drift Tour
Rorke's Drift, KwaZulu Natal and the north coast, South Africa
Listen at sunset as this tour follows the famous story of Rorke's Drift. Following on from the Isandlwana morning tour, you'll learn of how the remaining British fell back to the mission station to protect the church and hospital.
Just a short ten minute drive away, you will be taken to Rorke's Drift, the location of the final stand of the Anglo-Zulu battle. Here, 139 British soldiers fell back to defend the church and station against 400 Zulu warriors. ALthough they were defeated, the action of these men restored Victorian Britain's faith in the British Army after their shocking defeat against the Zulu's.
