A stay at any of the Kariega lodges includes game drives across the reserve in open safari vehicles, usually taken in the early morning and late afternoon. An experienced guide will be on hand to point out the sights and sounds of the bush, to explain about the unique ecosystem and to find some incredible sightings of game like lion, elephant and much more.
When not on a game drive, other activities include river cruises down the majestic Kariega River when staying at Kariega Main Lodge, Ukhozi Lodge and The Homestead, or down the Bushmans River when staying at River Lodge. Boat cruises are the perfect way to spend a tranquil afternoon spotting an abundance of bird and animal life and to enjoy dramatic river scenery. For those up for a little more action, Kariega can also provide guests with canoes and even equipment for some river fishing.
Back on land guides are also on hand to lead guests through the bush to get up close and personal with the Kariega Game Reserve and some of the wildlife that lives there.
A little further afield guests could also enjoy some additional activities such as a visit to the beach at Kenton-on-Sea, try a hand of golf, or even visit some historical highlights of the area (all at an additional cost).
