Mexico City, Mexico
Cheer the good guys and boo the bad guys at this most quintessential of Mexican experiences - Lucha Libre. It's sheer pantomime, with loads of crowd participation and great fun for all ages. You can even buy a mask afterwards as a souvenir.
Enjoy a typical match on Friday night or the Tuesday night match and watch the good guys versus the bad guys in the Arena Mexico. Be part of the Lucha Libre, when the lights come up and the roar of the crowd fills the arena with the shouting of curses to the "rudos" (bad guys) and the blowing of kisses to the "técnicos" (good guys).
Masked wrestlers execute high-flying acrobatic moves by using the wrestling ring's ropes to catapult themselves towards their opponents, using intricate combinations, and applying complex submission holds. See how the wrestlers wager either their mask or their hair, in battles such as mask-against-mask, hair-against-hair, or mask-against-hair matches where losing the mask to an opponent is seen as the ultimate insult. It is a great event for people of all ages that you should not miss! The atmosphere is amazing and definitely exciting. Even if you aren't a fan, you'll probably leave as one.
