Espiritu Santo Private Expedition to La Paz
You’ll start the day by heading out to Espiritu Santo from La Paz Marina. During the one-hour boat ride, you can take in the amazing views with your expert naturalist guide. Arriving to the north of the island, you’ll see the enormous ‘Los Islotes’ rocks. Here, you can snorkel right by one of Mexico’s largest sea lion colonies, the group of 300 to 350 of these fascinating creatures live here all year round. Look out for a variety of sea life like angelfish, parrotfish, garden eels, spotted boxfish puffers, giant hawkfish and barberfish. Sometimes you will even see schools of jacks, tunas, barracudas, herrings, and turtles passing by. Thanks to such an abundance of underwater life, the marine park secured a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After getting to know the island’s marine life you’ll continue by boat to the stunning Balandra beach. The practically virgin coastal area has eight beaches, an interior salt lagoon and the ‘El Hongo’ (mushroom) rock formation. Enjoy crystal, turquoise waters and white sands that reach back to the low, red, rocky mountain scape. Your guide will prepare a beach camp for you to enjoy lunch and take in the sunset, surrounded by natural beauty.
