Intertwined between 3.5 acres of gardens, the Sunset Marquis is steeped in West Hollywood history. Below its pristine terraces, inviting pool and relaxing outdoor lounging lie recording studios that have seen more than their fair share of famous singers and songwriters, slipping unseen to record in secrecy. This is all part of the thrill of a stay at the Sunset Marquis.
Guests may wish to hunker down for days in the calm and secluded grounds, however, for those that wish to explore and experience all of what this exciting part of LA has on offer, you are within striking distance. You are mere steps from the Sunset Strip where nightlife and music abounds and legendary venues such as the Viper Room, Comedy Store, Whisky a Go Go and the House of Blues are within easy reach. For daytime fun, the shops of Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios are all within easy reach and the beaches of Santa Monica are just a 30 minute drive away.
Back at the hotel, enjoy contemporary style suite accommodations in the main building surrounding an outdoor heated pool and partly covered terraces, perfect for escaping the hot summer afternoons. Hide away in hidden nooks and crannies adorned with comfy sofas and framed prints of famous music guests from the past and present. Head back in toward the luxurious "villas" set hidden away for the ultimate private luxury.
Dine in a delightful garden setting a world away from the West Hollywood buzz or head to the buzz of Bar1200 for pre-dinner drinks or a late night wind down.
The hotel is split in to two halves with the newly remodelled suites being in the main building closest to the main pool and the "villas" being tucked away into the gardens, away from prying eyes. All are suites, the villas are just larger, more opulent, more "Hollywood!".
The 101 suites offer a modern touch with contemporary furnishings and more of a minimalist style. Offering studios, one and two bedroom suites. Each suite has a separate lounge with cool stylish furnishings and either one or two bedrooms, each with a King bed. There are no sofa beds although rollaway beds are available on request. The two bedroom suites are perfect for families as the ground floor ones offer direct access out to the pool.
The 40 newly constructed villas are tucked away in the 3.5 acres of grounds, surrounded by lush greenery. They offer the ultimate in luxury comforts and feature full kitchens, separate lounges, some even have miniature grand pianos! Ultra luxurious bathrooms and balconies are also part of the experience. These are perfect for those wishing to have privacy or families who would like more space. You may even be rubbing shoulders with a celebrity guest or two...
The hotel offers an oasis away from the hubbub of West Hollywood with an understated lobby leading through to a sheltered pool with terraces and comfortable seating, ideal for relaxing afternoons. Pathways wind back to a secluded indoor and outdoor restaurant surrounded by gardens and water features. There is a further more private pool nestled within the villas and tucked away is a decadent small spa, perfect for an indulgent treatment or two.
For those who would like a little more buzz, Bar 1200 is at the front of the hotel and offers an intimate setting for hotel guests and locals who enjoy it's world class cocktails and it's low key vibe.

When to go
Los Angeles has a year-round climate. Summer (June - September) is the peak-tourist season, this is when the weather is hottest but beaches can be over crowded. January and February are the rainiest months. If you are visiting in May, June or July, watch out for the 'marine layer', a cloudy overcast, almost fog-like cloud which may affect the beach and first mile or so of the coastal strip, especially in the mornings.
