Average time to visit

There is no bad time to go on safari in the Kruger National Park. The experience does, however, change from month to month. In the summer months (October to March), it gets very hot. The verdant vistas are all the more spectacular because of the rains, but this means that the foliage is denser, water is more abundant and game is therefore trickier to see. There are lots of beautiful migratory birds during the summer months. While the daytime temperature in the winter months (May to September) is ideal, it does get a little chilly at night and in the early morning.

To start planning your holiday to Wait a Little Main Camp

Wait a Little Main Camp is a small intimate camp with only 4 rooms, overlooking the Makuthswe River. It is the perfect intimate camp to begin and end your horse riding adventure riding through the African bush.

Wait a Little Main Camp is host to three tents sat on platforms, plus one smaller rondavel room used for single travelers not wanting to share.

All rooms are comfortable and are equipped with mosquito nets, electricity, as well as hot and cold running water. You will spend your first three nights of your riding safari in these old style safari tents listening to the sounds of the bush.

You will spend your days exploring the reserve in search of some incredible wildlife sightings, watching the sun set with a drink on hand, and perhaps even enjoy a relaxing massage by the on site therapist before continuing your safari for a further five nights.
