Scott Dunn Exclusive: Xochicalco by helicopter & Spa
Begin your morning by heading up to the helipad of the St. Regis Mexico City which boasts fantastic panoramas over this expansive metropolis both day and night. Climb into your private helicopter and soar southwards to the state of Morelos where you can find the Xochicalco ruins, an impressive archaeological site which now features on Mexico's list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Land at Cuernavaca airport, a 20-minute drive from the site, before exploring the acropolis, observatory and ball courts which make up this fascinating set of ruins.
After your privately guided tour of the site you will return to the airport to board the helicopter, this time bound for Hacienda San Gabriel de las Palmas, commissioned by Hernán Cortés, the famous conquistador in 1529. A specially prepared lunch will be waiting for you in a magical part of the hacienda grounds where you will spend the afternoon. Indulge in a treatment at the spa which utilises the restorative properties found in agave and the anti-inflammatory properties of tequila, along with a special mud which will help to exfoliate skin and leave you feeling utterly relaxed. Following your afternoon of unwinding, board the helicopter for a final time, returning to the helipad of the St Regis.
