In the summer, warm temperatures during the day often feeling very pleasant in the heat of the sun and cooler overnight and first thing in the morning. The combination of hot air down in the valley and cool air at the summits can often lead to spectacular thunderstorms which are all part of the mountain experience!

Set in the heart of San Cassiano, the Lagació Mountain Residence is a unique eco-style hotel ideally situated for exploring the spectacular Dolomites. An ideal place for those that appreciate gourmet dining, a luxurious spa and being surrounded by nature.
Created with nature in mind the Lagació Mountain Residence has stunning wood and stone architecture mixing old and modern Tyrolean styles. The layout of the accommodation makes it ideal for families looking for a little more independence and privacy.
The attraction for this type of hotel is that guests are never short of dining opportunities in the evening. San Cassiano is home to two Michelin starred restaurants and a host of other establishments serving exceptional food. If you wish to sample traditional Ladin cuisine then you can try “Turtres” (a kind of stuffed crullers) or “Cajinci” (stuffed pasta pockets similar to ravioli) and dessert could be apple strudel or “Kiachln” (like a donut). Alternatively, there's the option to eat in, using the very well equipped kitchenette.
The hotel offers guests a wonderfully warm welcome and staff genuinely make sure you have a relaxing vacation.
Much of the produce made in the hotel - the fresh bread and the delicious preserves, organic cheeses and local cold meats and eggs cooked just how you like them. Breakfast is designed to give you the best possible start to your day. Guests can also create their own individual juice with the juicer in the dining room. On two afternoons each week, the hotel cooks a hearty soup, with a choice of wines, snacks and a typical South Tyrolean marende - cheese and meats - which is all served at the hotel bar. And once a week, if you'd prefer to stay in, the hotel chef will prepare the ingredients for a dinner that you can finish in your apartment.
The 24 Lagació suites are well designed, cleanly decorated and modern design. Panorama windows admit plenty of light and give a breathtaking view of the Lagazoui mountain and the impressive Dolomites scenery. La Palsa Spa offers a good range of restorative treatments using top quality products such as Team Dr Joseph and Thalgo, and has a Finnish sauna, steam bath low-temperature sauna and ice fountain.
There is a bike rental shop conveniently situated in the hotel. with racing and mountain bikes along with GPS equipment so you can enjoy the great biking trails available. Alternatively there are plenty of activities on offer for all the family with hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, golf being just some of the activities in the area.
The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dolomites are situated in the South Tyrol in the north of Italy and the famous Sella Ronda circuit can also be explored by bike during the summer months.

Ideal for families, this suite is 53.5m2 has two sleeping areas - a double room with en-suite bathroom and a separate room with bunk beds. It has a separate living room leading off the kitchenette. Another great option for families these suites have balconies on two sides facing south and west. There are two separate sleeping areas - a double room with en-suite bathroom and a bunk room with separate shower room. The restaurant at Lagacio Mountain Residence serves a hearty breakfast each morning. There is also a bar. Each suite and apartment is fully equipped with top of the range kitchen facilities if you'd prefer to eat in on the occasional evening. The Spa has a fantastic range of treatments and therapies and the hotel also has a fitness room.
For biking enthusiasts the Lagacio offers safe storage facilities and as well as a bike rental shop with racing and mountain bikes along with GPS equipment.

How to get there
From London it is a 2-hour flight, followed by a 1-hour 45-minute private transfer from Innsbruck or a 3-hour one from Venice.
