The handy location of the Petit Alaska will mean that whether you want to pop to the boutique shops, meet the family on the mountain for lunch or even wonder back from Après you will only be a short walk or an even quicker drive from the Val d’Isere village.Mike Harlow
After a fresh dump of snow make sure you fill up on a good breakfast and ask the driver to take you over to Le Fornet. The powder runs here are the best in the Espace Killy.Mike Harlow
Feeling adventurous? Ask the chalet team about Heli-skiing, husking sledding or ice driving. All can be organized and we give you more stories to tell on your return.Mike Harlow
I challenge anyone to relax in Jupiter’s hot-tub overlooking the resort with a glass of champagne and not think they’re in heaven.Alice Peal
For some unique off piste, take the Aiguille Percée chairlift in Tignes and ski across to the ‘Eye of the Needle’ Rock. Remove your skis climb up and through the ‘Eye’ and enjoy the deep un-touched powder on the other side!Mike Harlow
For a family adventure, try the Lost Valley from the top of the Tommeuses chairlift and dropping down to the right, follow the path through the trees and valley. If the snow levels are good enough, you can even ski through a canyon although you may have to take your skis off.Scott Dunn team

Chalet Jupiter is a luxurious chalet which forms part of the exclusive Le Petit Alaska private estate in Val d'Isère.
The chalet can sleep up to eight but ideally is most comfortable for a party of six. Accommodation is split over three levels, with the master bedroom nestled in the eaves and the three further bedrooms on the ground floor. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and there's the added bonus of a hot tub on the balcony and a hammam to ease away the aches and pains after a hard day on the piste.
The living accommodation is on the first floor and consists of an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, complete with open fire place and two sets of French doors leading on to the large south facing balcony.
The interior design of this chalet really impresses - cleverly combining a mix of traditional chalet-style materials with some more unique, contemporary touches. The furnishings are modern in style and complement the natural wood and stone beautifully.
Chalet Jupiter has parking for two cars for guests who like to drive to the resort.
Chalet Jupiter has four double bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom. The master has an open-plan bathroom with a bath tub in the corner of the room and the other three bedrooms each have a shower.

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing vacations with childcare, allowing parents the freedom to ski whilst their children are expertly looked after by a qualified private nanny. Our handpicked childcare team are qualified professionals, whose enthusiasm and nurturing abilities are in abundance, so much so that both parents and children often ask to take them home. In Val d’Isère our chalet guests have the choice of a private nanny or our exclusive Explorers kids club .
We look after children from as young as four months, making sure the entire family has a relaxed, fun and memorable vacation. Our team organize age appropriate activities and can take the older ones to and from ski school, allowing you to spend all day on the slopes. A nutritious lunch is served each day, as well as healthy snacks, with any dietary requirements taken into account and your child’s routine will be strictly adhered to. We can also provide a wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers on request, including nappies and wipes, usually free of charge. And if you’d like to go out in the evening, we can provide babysitting.
|Explorers kids club||
Run by qualified nannies, our purpose built kids club in Val d’Isere is available exclusively to Scott Dunn guests and is open seven days a week. Each day promises an imaginative and entertaining program of both indoor and outdoor activities, so parents can spend the day on the slopes knowing your children are in expert hands. Snacks and lunches are freshly made each day and we also operate a driver service that can take your children to and from ski school.
All our Scott Dunn nannies are fully qualified (CACHE trained or similar) and are carefully selected for their natural ability with children and their nurturing and fun approach. We provide rigorous pre-season training which includes a paediatric first aid course, water safety and spending time with our chefs learning how to prepare nutritious snacks and lunches. Available for five days a week, they ensure your children enjoy a range of activities, whilst adhering to their home routines. They can also take children to, and collect from ski school each day.
Babysitting can be arranged in the evenings and is chargeable by the hour (€20 for the first hour, then €10 per hour until midnight, and €20 per hour thereafter).
Chalet Jupiter is a well-equipped chalet, perfect for families and groups of friends. There is also a hot tub on the balcony and a hammam on the same level as the three bedrooms which adds an extra luxurious touch.
Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.
Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The Center Aquasportif has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.
Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.
There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Location & Directions
Val d'Isère, France - Sleeps 6+2
Jupiter is a 10 minute walk from the center of Val d'Isère and a 8-10 minute walk to the Bellevarde Express lift. Geneva 170km, Chambery 135km, Lyon 234km.
When to go
Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 meters. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.
