Val d'Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.

Children are welcome but there are no facilities other than a children’s menu.
Scott Dunn pioneered skiing holidays with childcare, allowing parents the freedom to ski whilst their children are cared for impeccably by our nannies. Our handpicked childcare team are qualified professionals, whose enthusiasm and nurturing abilities are in abundance, so much so that both parents and children often ask to take them home. In Val d’Isère we have our exclusive Explorers kids club , which gives our hotel guests the freedom to ski all day, whilst your children have a holiday too. We look after children from as young as four months, with age appropriate activities and a collection service to and from ski school. A nutritious lunch is served each day, as well as healthy snacks, with any dietary requirements taken into account and your child’s routine will be strictly adhered to. We can also provide a wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers on request, including nappies and wipes, usually free of charge. And if you’d like to go out in the evening, we can provide babysitting.
|Explorers kids club||
Run by qualified nannies, our purpose built kids club in Val d’Isere is available exclusively to Scott Dunn guests and is open seven days a week. Each day promises an imaginative and entertaining programme of both indoor and outdoor activities, so parents can spend the day on the slopes knowing your children are in expert hands. Snacks and lunches are freshly made each day and we also operate a driver service that can take your children to and from ski school.
Babysitting can be arranged in the evenings and is chargeable by the hour (€20 for the first hour, then €10 per hour until midnight, and €20 per hour thereafter).
Fresh from the market cuisine is on offer at the Blizzard restaurant, or alternatively the second restaurant 'La Luge' serves local Savoyard specialities. The lounge bar has a fantastic ambience, perfect for beverages at any time of day. The outdoor heated swimming pool lies at the foot of the famous Bellevarde slope and the hot tub sits outside in the snow offering a soothing infusion of hot and cold. There is also a sauna, hammam, massages, fitness equipment and a beauty therapy centre in the Clarins Spa.
Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.
Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The Centre Aquasportif has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.
Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.
There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Rob is a great asset to Scott Dunn. From sorting lift passes to booking restaurants. Excellent quality of holiday and attention to detail. This is our second Scott Dunn holiday with a summer holiday to Florida already booked.

As soon as you set foot in the Blizzard, there is a relaxing and familiar ambience about the hotel. The gorgeous golden retrievers will give you a very friendly welcome! The bar is famous for its roaring fire and fabulous cocktail selection. The spa is second to none with its super jacuzzi, treatment rooms and outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a lovely terrace offering drinks to all the family. The location of Le Blizzard allows you to walk straight out of the entrance onto the main street of Val dIsere as well as its close proximity to the slopes.

Hotel Blizzard is by far my favourite in Val d'Isere, in an excellent location in the heart of the village, though it is close enough to the slopes that not being ski in & ski out is a problem. The hotel is has it's own unique charm and stylish decor which is very welcoming, all of the rooms offer a good amount of space and comfortable furnishings. The Blizzard has one of the only outdoor heated pools in Val d'Isere a quick dip in here followed by the Jacuzzi is a good way to relax the muscles.
But the highlight of Le Blizzard is undoubtedly the wonderfully atmospheric, effortlessly chic bar, which has been run by the same head Barman since it opened. It is clearly THE place for drinks in Val D'Isere,.

The Blizzard is a beautiful hotel, located right in the heart of the town, close to the amazing restaurants and best shops yet only a short walk across to the lifts. I was particularly impressed by the spa and individually decorated rooms. The interior design of all the rooms has been beautifully done by the family owners, every room is different and you will receive pictures and floor plans before booking. They are cosy and luxurious with individual pieces of rustic alpine furniture. The Clarins Spa is probably the best spa I have seen in a ski resort, it includes an outdoor hot tub, outdoor heated pool and sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi inside.
Bring out the winter Olympian in yourself with this energetic but classic Alpine pursuit.

Heli-skiing in Val d'Isère
Whether you're a competent off-piste skier looking to heli-ski, or a piste skier looking to ski a wide variety of resorts, Val Heli-ski can create an itinerary that will take into account your preferences, your ski ability and the snow conditions.
Ice driving in Val d'Isère
One of the most thrilling experiences in a ski resort, ice driving is especially fun with a group of friends.
Ice skating in Val d'Isère
No Alpine holiday is complete without a session on the ice rink. The one in the centre of Val d'Isère is particularly good fun as well as being conveniently located. It is always a winner with children too.
Swimming in Val d'Isère
Val d'Isère has fantastic swimming facilities at the Centre Aquasportif Leisure Centre, and is well worth a trip if you're not skiing, or if you fancy a more relaxing bit of exercise after a day on the slopes.
