H2: Where To Enjoy the Best Nightlife in Val d’Isère

After a day of hitting the slopes, there's no better way to relax and unwind than in one of the resort's exclusive bars and nightclubs. While you're always free to make the most of your hotel's bar and enjoy a warming hot toddy, we've rounded up the best bustling bars, cosy corners and luxury lounges in Val d'Isère in case you're after something a little more lively.

Dick’s Tea Bar

Established in 1979, Dick’s Tea Bar has become one of the most famous institutions in Val d'Isère. Set up by Dick Yates-Smith, this bar became the go-to celebrity hangout in the mid-80s. Open every day from 4pm until late into the night, this central nightclub serves up fresh fruit cocktails and live music until 5am. Recently, Dicks expanded their capacity to cater to 500 people with new seating, advanced lighting and sound systems as well as an impressive VIP island overlooking the dance floor. As part of the recent renovations, Dick's introduced table service. All you need to do is focus on the live bands and DJs while the helpful staff serve premium vodka and champagne to your table.

Doudoune

You'll find this trendy nightclub under the piste at Rond Point. This is the place to be seen and is very popular among the more affluent residents. You won't find many rowdy seasonaires here. Instead, you'll be able to catch one of their superstar DJs each week and celebrate among the locals. The cutting-edge decks have been blessed with guests like David Guetta, Pete Tong and Roger Sanchez – it's worth a visit while you're local.

Doudoune is open from 10pm to 5am every night with free entry before midnight. Afterwards, entry is €15 with a drink. They also offer a free night bus to take you home. .

Le Petit Danois

It's not every day you find a Scandinavian bar in the Alps. Known for the Red Erik beer, Le Petit Danois offers international cuisine by day and a snug bar by night. During quieter times (when bar crawl groups are yet to arrive), you can sink back into comfortable chairs for a quiet drink or get to know the locals with a game of pool.

Away from the main bar, the restaurant has dedicated seating offering less traditional pub food and – if you feel like it – a full English breakfast.

Victor’s

Victor's is a stylish bar and lounge that suits individuals who want a relaxed affair in sophisticated surroundings. With a well-thought-out, chic interior, Victor's is the top choice if you're looking for a quieter evening with friends and family. But just because it's less lively than some of the other spots, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a drink or two.

Victor's has a reputation for being the place to be for cocktails before and after dinner. The craft cocktails are made with premium ingredients and are curated by their renowned mixologists. If you're lucky, you might even be able to catch one of the regular live jazz performances.

The bar is open from 4pm daily and happy hour is 9-11pm with 2 for 1 on all cocktails.

The M Bar

This is a popular place to settle down for some après-ski drinks or a late-night tipple with friends and family. A short walk from the main lifts, this wonderful institution offers a welcome respite from the cold with a roaring open fireplace, soft leather sofas and ornate wooden beams adorning the ceiling.

As well as offering tea, coffee and other hot drinks, The M Bar has a selection of fine wines and champagnes, craft beers, specialist cocktails and an impressive liquor collection. And if you're feeling a little peckish, a 'snacking crate' full of savoury bites will keep you going until your main meal or serve as a midnight snack.

La Cave sur le comptoir

A hidden gem in Val d'Isère, La Cave sur le comptoir is a cosy wine bar on the road towards Le Crêt. Combining fine wines, great cheeses and exceptional meats, this charming spot has something for everyone. Settle down for the night on the enclosed terrace by the fire pit and enjoy wine by the glass or the bottle. A knowledgeable team of connoisseurs will guide you around the extensive menu. If you'd prefer to expand your horizons, you can sample new wines each week.

After a few glasses, choose from a simple selection of sumptuous tapas dishes or enjoy a cold meat platter – a smorgasbord of exquisite local produce. Open from 4pm until 1am, this bar is a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more famous après-ski venues.

Cocorico

Hidden in the shadows of the Solaise and La Face de Bellevarde, Cocorico is a legendary après-ski bar that attracts visitors from far and wide. Until 9pm every day (later on Sundays), you can join in the fun on the colossal outdoor terrace and let the impressive sound system bring the vibes. There are large beers on tap and live music, and you can even get up and dance on the tables.

If you want to carry on the party, head over to Doudoune for the late-night DJ sessions.

Ormelune

A far cry from a cookie-cutter après-ski bar, this stylish hangout is one of the most playful in the Alps. It's hard not to be enraptured by its colourful armchairs, avant-garde chandeliers and quirky artwork. Offering a place to sip on craft beer, fine wines and delicious cocktails in a low-key environment, this bar is a stone's throw from the slopes. This makes it the ideal place to pile into after a long day on the slopes.
