To start planning your vacation to JW Marriott The Rosseau
The Muskoka Lakes is still relatively unknown to the international market, and understandably so, the Canadians want to keep this jewel their little secret. Just 2 hours North of Toronto, this stunning region of crystal clear pristine lakes has been the weekend escape for city folk for generations. Every turn brings a stunning water view and beautiful Muskoka cottages tucked down on the lake side, each with their own private deck to enjoy the tranquil setting and summer sunshine from.
The JW Marriott offers a cottage feel on a much larger scale. From the sweeping driveway leading to the entrance, complete with waterfall and an ever glowing fire surrounded by chairs from which to toast marshmallows in the balmy summer evenings, through to the grand terrace with sweeping Lake Rousseau views, this resort offers a home from home feel with all the facilities and services of a resort.
Families are particularly well looked after at “The Rousseau” with a choice of indoor and outdoor pools to splash around in, a bevvy of fun activities for the little ones from kite flying to arts and crafts, scavenger hunts and story tellings by the fire, they will have a whale of a time whilst mum and dad perhaps escape to the lakeside to read a book or just sit and soak up the tranquil lake.
This isn’t just a resort for families though, with a wonderfully indulgent spa complete with romantic couples rooms and an adult only spa pool overlooking the lake to the elegant and sophisticated Teca restaurant, perfect for an intimate dinner, there is something for everyone. Head out on the lake by canoe or speed boat, take a gentle stroll through the trails that surround the resort, play a round of golf at the superb golf course nearby or simply sit, relax and unwind.
Although it is tempting just to sink in to resort life, it is well worthwhile exploring beyond the grounds. Port Carling with it’s fascinating array of boutique shop and relaxed dining is just 20 minutes away and the Algonquin Provincial Park only 90 minutes away, well worth a day out through “cottage country”.
Whether just escaping city life for a weekend of heading away for a week or more, the JW Marriott will offer you a full 5 star resort experience and plenty of pampering in the heart of one of Ontario’s most beautiful regions.
The JW Marriott offers all suite accommodation from Studios through to Two-Bedroom Suites.
Every suite is luxuriously comfortable and decorated in cottage style with either a king bed with comfortable sofabed or two queen beds. Each suite also offers a large bathroom with separate bath and shower, fluffy bathrobes, fireplace and a kitchenette with fridge, cutlery and crockery, kettle and microwave.
Many of the suites feature a balcony or terrace and some also offer wonderful lake views. The one- and two-bedroom suites are ideal for families who are looking for more space.
Families are particularly well catered for at the resort with a huge choice of activities available during the summer months including scavenger hunts, cuddly toy building, arts and crafts, kite building and story telling. The guest reception provides "Smores" for roasting over the bonfire each evening and the Cranberry Lounge toddler room offers games and toys for children to play with. The playroom is unsupervised. For older children there is a games room with Wii, table tennis, air hockey and Foosball as well as computers to be used. Babysitting is available on request for additional charge.
The JW Marriott offers an abundance of facilities to enjoy. These include two pools, one is indoor, ideal for cooler days or winter, and the outdoor one is closer to the lake and has a separate hot whirlpool. There is a gym and a beautiful spa with treatment rooms, relaxation room and a private spa pool for guests using the spa only. There is plenty of outside space, lawns at the top of the hotel and down by the lake with relaxing chairs to watch the world go by. A small beach, canoes and bikes are available at the waters edge.
The hotel offers two restaurants, Cottages offers relaxed indoor and outdoor dining and superb buffet breakfasts with views out toward the lake and Teca offers Italian fine dining with an elegant and romantic feel.
In addition, the resort offers complimentary guest parking, complimentary WiFi internet in the lounge and library areas, DVD players and DVD library and a hotel boutique offering fresh coffee and snacks during the day.
