Whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family, Nimmo Bay has an experience for everyone. This exclusive tiny resort offers just nine cosy cabins ensuring that every guest is individually looked after and given every opportunity to have the time of their life.
Nimmo Bay is only accessible by helicopter or seaplane. A 25-minute flight from Port Hardy brings you into the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest with 30000 square miles of pristine wilderness as your playground. This is the place to reconnect with nature and get away from the real world. Guests can't help but unwind here with a plethora of activities on offer to sooth yet stimulate the mind and body.
From May to mid July the resort concentrates on offering wilderness, wildlife, cultural and helicopter adventure stays. Perfect for the whole family, the helicopter adventures bring you in touch with glaciers, mountain tops, forgotten beaches, remote islands, waterfalls and pristine lakes.
The yoga studio, spa, fitness room and hot tubs next to the waterfall allow you to recharge, retreat, relax and renew.
From mid July to the end of October, while this is a great time for marine and coastal wildlife, this is also the perfect time to focus your holiday on fishing, with fly fishing and fishing heli adventures coming to the fore. Whether you are an accomplished fisher or just starting out, the experienced guides will fly you to over 50 isolated rivers and streams with ease, allowing you to always be where the fish are. Your helicopter stays with you all day to make this possible. Nimmo Bay has a catch and release policy for all fresh water fishing.
Remember though Nimmo Bay isn't just about the fishing. With so many more activities on offer, even if fishing is not your thing, there are plenty of wonderful activities for you to do.
Kayak or paddle board out to look for eagles, bears or seals. Choose a marine adventure to spy Orca and Humpback whales and Sealions. Take a helicopter trip onto the glacier for a picnic lunch, hike the beautiful Nimmo Bay trail along the coastline or snorkel in the shallows.
In the evenings, linger over wonderful fresh local cuisine prepared by the skilled chef and team. Enjoy fine BC wines, a liqueur or cocktail then talk of adventures before retiring for a well earned sleep. Or perhaps head out to sit around the fire pit wrapped in cosy blankets and looking up to the star filled sky.
Although it is possible to escape to Nimmo Bay just for a day or two, to fully appreciate the wonder and special nature of a stay here we recommend an absolute minimum of three nights stay.
