The resort is open from May to October each year and offer a variety of packages. The helicopter packages run from mid July through to the end of October
Spring and fall are often warm and pleasant but rainfall can be heavy, particularly on the coast. Summers (June to September) are mostly dry and sunny with warm temperatures.

Whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family, Nimmo Bay has an experience for everyone. This exclusive tiny resort offers just nine cosy cabins ensuring that every guest is individually looked after and given every opportunity to have the time of their life.
Nimmo Bay is only accessible by helicopter or seaplane. A 25-minute flight from Port Hardy brings you into the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest with 30000 square miles of pristine wilderness as your playground. This is the place to reconnect with nature and get away from the real world. Guests can't help but unwind here with a plethora of activities on offer to sooth yet stimulate the mind and body.
From May to mid July the resort concentrates on offering wilderness, wildlife, cultural and helicopter adventure stays. Perfect for the whole family, the helicopter adventures bring you in touch with glaciers, mountain tops, forgotten beaches, remote islands, waterfalls and pristine lakes.
The yoga studio, spa, fitness room and hot tubs next to the waterfall allow you to recharge, retreat, relax and renew.
From mid July to the end of October, while this is a great time for marine and coastal wildlife, this is also the perfect time to focus your holiday on fishing, with fly fishing and fishing heli adventures coming to the fore. Whether you are an accomplished fisher or just starting out, the experienced guides will fly you to over 50 isolated rivers and streams with ease, allowing you to always be where the fish are. Your helicopter stays with you all day to make this possible. Nimmo Bay has a catch and release policy for all fresh water fishing.
Remember though Nimmo Bay isn't just about the fishing. With so many more activities on offer, even if fishing is not your thing, there are plenty of wonderful activities for you to do.
Kayak or paddle board out to look for eagles, bears or seals. Choose a marine adventure to spy Orca and Humpback whales and Sealions. Take a helicopter trip onto the glacier for a picnic lunch, hike the beautiful Nimmo Bay trail along the coastline or snorkel in the shallows.
In the evenings, linger over wonderful fresh local cuisine prepared by the skilled chef and team. Enjoy fine BC wines, a liqueur or cocktail then talk of adventures before retiring for a well earned sleep. Or perhaps head out to sit around the fire pit wrapped in cosy blankets and looking up to the star filled sky.
Although it is possible to escape to Nimmo Bay just for a day or two, to fully appreciate the wonder and special nature of a stay here we recommend an absolute minimum of three nights stay.
The resort offers nine cosy cabins; six intertidal and three forest.The intertidal cabins have two bedrooms as well as breathtaking views of the bay, the forest cabins are located next to the stream and nestled into the trees, also with two bedrooms.
All cabins have been constructed with the environment in mind and all feature home made cookies, wine, complimentary minibar, coffee and speciality teas, cotton bathrobes and slippers, Egyptian cotton linens, BOSE iPod dock and umbrellas. Other little extras include a Nimmo Bay water bottle (to keep) and daily turndown service. All cabins also offer a living room area with couch as well as an outdoor seating area to enjoy the wonderful clear air.
Children are welcomed at Nimmo Bay Resort and are well looked after. Due to the nature of the resort and the activities on offer, it is more suited to children over the age of 6 years.

The resort offers a huge number of activities and packages to suit every guest. These include kayaking, paddle boarding, bear watching, whale watching, cultural tours, museum visits, survivalist courses, hiking, rock climbing, fly fishing, snorkelling and yoga. The resort also specialises in helicopter adventures taking in the vast 30000 square miles of beautiful wilderness it is set in. Their guides will take you to glaciers, mountain tops, old growth forests, white sand beaches, waterfalls, pristine lakes, remote islands, hot springs, isolated rivers, and cultural museums.
For those who like to fish, the resort offers heli fishing. Their guides will take you to isolated streams with an abundance of pacific salmon (Coho, Chinook, Sockeye, Pinks) Steelhead and trout (Dolly Varden, Rainbow, Cutthroat). Heli fly fishing is also available for experienced or novice fishers.

Nimmo Bay Resort is only accessible by air. Located on the mainland of British Columbia although guests have to travel to Port Hardy on Vancouver Island for transportation over the resort.
How to get there
10-hour direct flight to Vancouver International Airport, followed by a 90-minute domestic flight to Port Hardy and a 25-minute helicopter or float plane flight to the resort.
