Located on the shores of Lake Osoyoos in the South of British Columbia's sun drenched Okanagan Valley, the Watermark Resort offers suite and townhouse accommodation ideal for families wishing to have a luxurious base for exploring this beautiful region.
Although Osoyoos itself is a tiny town with just a handful of shops and restaurants, the location is one of the best for visiting this beautiful region of British Columbia.
Just a stone's throw from some of the Okanagan Valley's foremost boutique vineyards and right on the waters' edge, the Watermark is comfortable enough to be enjoyed as a base for a longer stay.
Families will love the spacious townhouse style villas, set right on the edge of Lake Osoyoos and with a pool and water slide to one side and the beach in front. The lake offers a whole host of exciting activities from sailing to pontoon boating, wake boarding to splashing about in. The lake is one of the warmest in Canada.
Being one of the sunniest and hottest parts of British Columbia, the Okanagan Valley has much to offer beyond the fabulous wineries that line the main road as well as being tucked away in little corners of this picturesque place. Hire a bike and cycle the Golden Mile, take on one of the adrenaline pumping descents or go cross country on a mountain bike. Explore the area by foot, taking in the beautiful vistas and the unusual Spotted Lake, thought to have healing powers in it's 365 rings.
Return to the resort for a relaxing pre-dinner cocktail and informal dinner on the pool patio overlooking the lake. Or bring back your own dinner and take advantage of one of the communal barbecues for an al fresco family feast.
Take some time out from activities to enjoy the pool and water slide or perhaps take a relaxing soak in the hot tub. The spa is a great spot to have those aching muscles soothed away with a relaxing massage or take one of the regular yoga or Pilates classes.
Just 4-hours scenic drive from Vancouver and a little further from the Rocky Mountains, Osoyoos makes for the perfect mid-way relaxation stop in a BC road trip or a destination all on its own.
The resort offers both suite and villa style accommodations.
The 123 studio, one and two bedroom suites are situated in the main resort buildings and each offers light, bright contemporary style accommodations with gourmet kitchens and balconies overlooking the city and mountains, pool or lake area. Each of the suites has air conditioning, DVD players, sofa beds, dining tables and complimentary wireless internet. The one and two bedroom suites also have washer/dryers.
The 30 Beachfront Villas are set to one side of the resort and open up directly on to the path leading down to the lake front. Each villa has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is set over two floors, featuring a full gourmet kitchen with washer / dryer, air conditioning, minimum of one balcony, gas fireplace, wireless internet and dining table. They are ideal for families wishing for a little more space and quiet away from the main resort. The main pool and resort facilities are a minute or two's walk away. Guests in the Beachfront Villas can park right outside the villa.
Children are welcome at the Watermark Resort and the accommodation lends itself very well to family groups. There is a central pool with curly slide and a children's pool. There is also a children's activity center and games room.
The resort features a main pool with water slide with two hot tubs, pool and plenty of terrace space right next to the lake. There are communal barbecues that guests can utilize during their stay.
The resort has a main wine bar and patio area that serves innovative cocktails and local Okanagan wines. The restaurant offers a relaxed ambience and locally sourced Okanagan produce created into tasty dishes. The patio is the ideal place for spending a balmy evening enjoying the delicious fare.
In addition, the Illumination Spa is the ideal place to be pampered from head to foot. Enjoy a treatment, take a class in the yoga studio or use the fully equipped fitness studio.
Osoyoos and the Okanagan Valley have much to offer. Hire a bike and cycle along the picturesque lake paths or join one of the guided cycle tours of the area. Drive out to sample some fine Okanagan wines or a spot of lunch at one of the local vineyards. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the 5 golf courses in the region or head out on horseback to one of the horse trails in the area.
Stay at the lake and learn how to sail with Osoyoos Sailing Club who organize sailing lessons for people aged 10 and over Monday to Friday.
