Temple of Horus & Kom Ombo

Navigate towards Edfu and visit Temple of Horus, the largest sanctuary built during the period of King Ptolemy. The sun-deity Horus, typically portrayed as a falcon, is one of the most iconic worship of ancient Egypt as one of the chief deities, the son of Osiris. Its bas-reliefs give a vivid picture of life in ancient Egypt.
The Temple of Kom Ombo stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank. One half the temple is dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Haruris and the other half to the crocodile god, Sobek.
