Huangnan Maple Ancient Path
Ningbo, Shanghai and Eastern China, China
Starting from an old village, we hike uphill through pavilions and ancient bridges into Jigong Temple and a scenic viewpoint of the Huangtan Terraced Field. The hiking takes approximately 5 hours to finish.
Serving as the heart of ancient trade path between Tiantai and Linhai, the scenic Huangnan Maple Ancient Path is dotted with endless terraces and maple trees lining on both sides of the path for approximately 10 kilometres. During late autumn, the path bursts in colours resembling oil paintings.
From the starting point, you will pass through archaic bridges and gazebos which leads into a lookout platform at Jigong Temple. Afterwards, the trail leads downwards to old village with rising tiers of Huangtan rice paddies.
