The climate in Puglia is generally warm sunny and dry in April/May and again in October with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can get a bit humid. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.

La Fiermontina is a beautifully restored 17th century villa in the heart of Lecce. Its stylish modern interiors, tranquil gardens and inviting swimming pool make it the perfect place to stay in this charming Baroque city.
La Fiermontina is a 16-room boutique hotel, nestled into the walls of Lecce's 'centro storico' surrounded by charming squares and baroque churches.
The hotel was completed in 2015 by the Parisian owner Giacomo Fiermonte and is something of a 'labour of love', a tribute to his Puglian grandmother, Antonia, whom he describes as a 'legendary character'. She married a French Sculptor and left him for another artist who happened to be his best friend. Her brother Enzo was a champion boxer turned film actor, who married Lady Astor. Stories of the colorful lives of his ancestors inspired Giacomo to dedicate the conversion of this 17th century house to his grandmother. The design and look of the hotel skilfully combines the ancient and modern, contrasting the soft stone of the old buildings with fascinating design pieces form the owner's s impressive modern art collection.
A supremely comfortable and welcoming addition to our Puglian program, Lecce in general and La Fiermontina in particular come highly recommended.
There are 16 bedrooms which vary in size and shape. Some have balconies and terraces.
Children are welcome and baby food, cots and buggies are available. The restaurant offers a children’s menu.
The hotel has a small spa offering a range of treatments, including deep-tissue and hot-stone Ayurvedic massages.
The hotel's restaurant, as you would expect, serves the very best Puglian specialties made with the freshest possible ingredients.
