The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. Hotels in the Amalfi Coast tend to close for the winter, starting in October until they reopen in late March or April.
Tucked below terraces of olive and lemon trees overlooking the azure waters of the Bay of Naples, Capo la Gala is a five-star hideaway near Sorrento made for sea-gazing and sunbathing in a relaxed yet luxurious setting.
Located just north of the fishing village of Vico Equense and within a fifteen minute drive of Sorrento, Capo La Gala occupies an enviable location for exploring the Amalfi Coast. One of the most striking parts of the hotel is the view, which stretches out across the Bay of Naples towards the horizon where the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida are visible on a clear day.
The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed but luxurious touches can be found everywhere. The 22 rooms at Capo La Gala are designed with the utmost care, furnished with beautiful pieces and combinations of textures.
Other facilities at Capo La Gala include the beach cliff bar and swimming pool, here you can find a private beach, a salt water infinity pool and a whirlpool, where you can gaze across the sparkling azure sea. There is also an open air gym, meaning that you can get active whilst looking out to the stunning sea view. The fully equipped Aquarium Spa offers a wide range of relaxing treatments to help you fully indulge on your vacation.
There are two restaurants to choose from at Capo La Gala, the Lounge Grill Nerea, where fresh fish is grilled and served with traditional Neapolitan dishes, or freshly made pasta can be enjoyed. The Maxi Restaurant holds a Michelin Star and provides an enchanting view across the Gulf of Naples. Here true Italian dishes are offered with a certain finesse, accompanied by excellent wine from an extensive Italian cellar.
The 22 rooms of boutique hotel Capo La Gala are beautifully decorated: precious textiles, unique pieces of furniture and a wonderful view make these rooms the ideal location for a dream vacation.
Large, well-lit and furnished with style and refinement, the rooms of this 5-star hotel offer an incomparable view on the Gulf of Naples.

Capo La Gala is a charming nautical-themed hotel located directly on the water tucked away in a hidden cove. The hotel never feels crowded, as the grounds of the hotel are vast in comparison to the amount of rooms. Rooms are spacious and many feature oceanfront terraces that are the perfect setting to watch the sunset. The oceanfront pool area offers plenty of loungers and a wonderful staff offering drinks, food towels and sunscreen. The Michelin-star restaurant Maxi offers incredible Mediterranean food. When you decide to venture from the hotel, the complimentary shuttle can take you to the nearby town of Vico Equense with plenty of delicious dining options.

A brilliant boutique hotel, located right on the water with stunning views out towards the island of Capri. A fresh nautical feel through out, which I loved. The food was delicious at the relaxed beach side restaurant, so I can only imagine how incredible the Michelin starred Maxi Restaurant must be.

The most stunning boutique hotel I've ever stayed in! Beautifully decorated, great location not far from Naples or Sorrento. Right on the water, the most spectacular views and setting. The cocktails are so delicious and the food is sensational. And Valerio couldn't be more charming!

This was the last of four hotels we visited in a multi-destination tour of the coast. Unlike most other luxury hotels on the Amalfi coast it's located right down by the sea instead of nestling high on a cliff. That's a major advantage, and the gently lapping waves just below our balcony provided a stunning backdrop as well as a lovely aural accompaniment. Unfortunately, though, while it's possible to swim directly from the hotel's own terrace, there are no other facilities whatsoever, no boat or pedalo or the like and not even masks and snorkels with which to explore the interesting-looking rocks. We were quite envious of the several other snorkellers who appeared during the course of the day, having swum in from other bays. The decking by the pool is reasonably attractive, but we were unimpressed by the bare concrete of the rest of the sun terrace, and the awkward arrangement of loungers, placed sideways to keep them out of the way of the route from the pool and the beach restaurant.
The general nautical theme is reflected in the hotel's attractive navy and white decor. Our room was compact but stylish and well-furnished, and enhanced with a huge floor-to-ceiling mirror which made it seem twice as big as it was. A nice bright bathroom as well, well-appointed apart from cheap plastic cups, each hygienically sealed in its own plastic bag, but so flimsy that they break when you try to extract them. Our balcony offered a lovely view of the sea, but limited privacy. The terraces are divided from one another by a semi-opaque canvas screen stretching from head height to knee level, so you'll quickly get to recognise your neighbors by their silhouettes, feet and lower legs! The main restaurant was of a high standard, but not perhaps quite as high as the chef and staff clearly considered it to be. The food was very good but a touch pretentious and - meat lovers beware - with a menu heavily biased towards seafood. Breakfast was fine, despite a limited buffet selection, and light lunch at the beach-side restaurant was also good.
For variety, we made a sortie into the main town of Vico Equense for dinner, but it was pretty grim. The two restaurants suggested by reception - Terramia and Pizza al Metro (literally pizza by the meter) - were very uninspiring, cavernous but both deserted at 8.30pm. Instead we fled back to the hotel for a fussy but high quality dinner in considerably more attractive surroundings.
