Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Fall and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Fall (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.

The Old Inn is a local Nepalese guesthouse situated in the charming town of Bandipur, mid-way between Kathmandu and Pokhara. It is restored mansion, and contains a range of Buddhist and Newari art with oodles of charm and character.
The Old Inn is perfect for those guests who want to escape the usual tourist trail of Kathmandu, Pokhara or Chitwan and is great to stop off when driving to the Annapurna Range from Kathmandu. It is a restored town-house in a town where time has stood still and ideally the town is a traffic-free zone. Old Inn is located right in the main square.
Old Inn itself has retained many of its old features; think low ceilings, narrow staircases and exceptionally low doorways. Those who are tall will spend quite a bit of time bending and ducking but it is half the fun and certainly is a little different. Don't expect bells and whistles with Old Inn; it is a really simple hotel but you stay here for the chance to get off the beaten track and be in a town that offers more spice to a Nepal itinerary. The main terrace has stunning views over the mountains, and the rooms look back over the main square. We always opt for the New Wing, which has en-suite bathrooms. Do expect niggles (water pressure for instance), and do go there with an open-mind. The staff are really attentive and so sweet and always try to add nice little touches like welcome drinks and homemade biscuits. Old Inn isn't for everyone, but if you like something a little quirky and want something amazingly authentic, then this is a perfect place to stop on your travels.
Whilst in Bandipur there are some superb experiences to be done. There is a 4-hour trek to the Magar village of Ramkot, showcasing local farming methods and stunning views. The 4-hour walk to the Siddha Cave is also worth considering to see Nepal's largest cave.
The Old Inn has a New Wing with en-suite facilities. Rooms are decorated with traditional art and use local, handmade bedcovers. Do note that the mattresses are on the thin side and the rooms are a little small. There are no TVs or wifi, but Old Inn isn't really the place for them. In the winter they provide hot water bottles.
The Old Inn Bandipur has a lovely terrace with views and a restaurant.

This beautiful townhouse has just 20rooms, including a four-bed family room and two three-bed rooms so perfect for families. The rooms are quite small with low doorframes, which is typical of Newari architecture, but the rooms are tastefully decorated with Nepali antiques. The buffet cuisine alternates between Continental & Nepali and breakfast is served out on the terrace with spectacular mountain views. There are many trekking options in the surrounding area such as to Siddha Cave and the gradually restored town and bazaar is also worth an explore.
Bandipur is a beautifully preserved village with winding lanes of traditional Newari houses. Take time to explore its glorious 18th-century architecture, including temples and civic buildings and the bazaar.
Pokhara - Rafting the Seti River
Rafting the Seti River in Nepal is one of the most rewarding experiences in this magical country. The Seti River creates an excellent link between trekking in the Annapurna Range and Pokhara with the wildlife reserve of Chitwan.
