Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Autumn (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.

A 25-minute flight from Kathmandu will transport you to the foothills of the Himalayas. One of the best places to enjoy this incredible mountain range is the Tiger Mountain Lodge, Pokhara. It's just 45 minutes from the airport and you find yourself being blessed with some of the best views money can buy. The resort is rustic and charming in nature and has bags of character. A lot of this charm comes from the staff, from the guest relations manager Jhalak, down to the cleaning staff, most of the employees have been at the lodge since it's opening in 1998. This gives it such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, like you are coming home! The Lodge acts as a fantastic base for all the amazing activities Pokhara has to offer. Be it hiking, biking, paragliding or fishing, it can all be arranged from there. If you are feeling energetic one day take on the 7-hour looping trek. You'll pass through bustling villages, encounter wildlife, see the meandering rivers below, have views onto the areas biggest lakes, look down on the vast Pokhara Valley, walk through paddy fields, all whilst having the most incredible backdrop of the Annapurna range. You'll also have a delicious packed lunch en route to keep the engine running! It's a fantastic stop for anyone who wants to see the real Nepal.

The Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge has some of the best views in Nepal. It is located on a ridge about 30 minutes from Pokhara, so best for those who don't really want to see the city. What I loved was watching the sunrise and seeing the whole range appear before me - quite exceptional.
