Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Autumn (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.

Nepal is known for its spectacular scenery and a destination that provides plenty of opportunity so explore on foot. This itinerary takes you on a glorious five-night trek into the Annapurna Range, the most dramatic mountain vista in the Himalayas and just focuses on seeing Nepal's amazing mountain scenery rather than adding other activities like rafting and wildlife.

  1. Fly to Kathmandu

  2. Days 1-3: Kathmandu

Your itinerary starts with two nights in Kathmandu. Your private guide will take you through the city’s intricate maze of narrow streets, where you can soak up the Nepalese way of life and browse the colourful local markets. As well as sampling some delicious Nepalese thalis, visit the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu and Patan, the mediaeval town of Bhaktapur, and the Hindu temple at Pashupatinath.

    Accommodation: Dwarika's (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-4: Annapurna Region

After a short internal flight to Pokhara, you will meet with your guides and porters and start your trek into the Annapurna range.

Your walk is on a private basis, with a personal guide and sherpa who will carry all your belongings from lodge to lodge - you can walk at your own pace, and if you feel like you want to tag on a few more nights, we can adapt the itinerary to meet your specific requirements. On your first day you will have a couple of hours walking to ease you into the trek as you venture through the lower foothills of the Annapurna’s. You will arrive at your lodge in the early afternoon and we suggest either taking a walk to the village of Birethanti or exploring the surrounding river valley.

    Accommodation: Sanctuary Lodge (1 night)

  4. Days 4-5: Annapurna Region

Today you will continue your trekking journey, leaving the farmland and fertile valley behind and venture up into the mountains towards the village of Ghandruk. On the way you will pass through small hamlets, terraced rice fields, beautiful forests and all the while being treated to spectacular views of the valley. This afternoon we suggest you rest and relax and take in your first proper view of the stunning surrounding mountains.

    Accommodation: Himalaya Lodge (1 night)

  5. Days 5-6: Annapurna Region

The trek today leads you from Ghandruk village to Landruk. Your end point today will be Landruk, which provides even more beautiful views of the Annapurna range. You should arrive to your lodge around midday and in the afternoon you can choose to relax and take in the beautiful views or if you would like to explore further your guide will be on hand to lead an afternoon hike around the village of Landruk.

Accommodation: La Bee Lodge (1 night)

  6. Days 6-7: Annapurna Region

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, today you will set off to Majgaun. The trek today will undulate with small climbs and descents as you pass through the small villages of the region surrounded by farmland. As with other stops, the afternoon will be at your leisure to explore further if you wish or simply take the time to recharge and relax ready for tomorrow’s day of hiking.

    Accommodation: Gurung Lodge (1 night)

  7. Days 7-8: Annapurna Region

The trek today will pass through the unspoilt and ancient villages of Patlekhet, Dhampus and Pothana. You’ll have the chance to really experience local Nepalese life today and in the village of Pothana there may be the opportunity to meet with local Tibetan traders and pick up a souvenir or two! The scenery and topography also sets its self apart with sub-tropical forests which are full of tree orchids, rhododendrons and magnolias. Like most afternoons along the trek, you will have the chance to either relax or explore the village of Dhampus more fully.

    Accommodation: Basanta Lodge (1 night)

  8. Days 8-10: Pokhara

After completing the trek you will descend down to the valley where you will meet your driver who will transfer you the short distance into Pokhara. We normally recommend that you have a couple of days to take in the city yourself with its multitude of outdoor activities that can be explored. However, if you would like a guide during your stay we can of course include this for you.

Accommodation: Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge (2 nights)

  9. Days 10-12: Dhulikel

For the final leg of your trip, take the short flight back to Kathmandu from Pokhara to spend the final two nights in Dhulikhel, perched on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley which is just an hour's drive from Kathmandu Airport.  Here you can truly unwind and relax in the beautiful surroundings before saying goodbye to Nepal and heading home.

Accommodation: Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel (2 nights)

  10. Fly home from Kathmandu
