Average time to visit
Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
Call us on to start planning your vacation to Sala Lodges or take a look at our itineraries to Siem Reap
Completely unique, Sala Lodges Siem Reap is made up of 11 authentic Khmer houses that have been lovingly restored to what are now chic and stylish private villas that sit in tropical grounds. It's ideally located for visiting the nearby Angkor temples.
Sala Lodges sits approximately one kilometer from Siem Reap and is perfectly located for visiting Angkor Wat and the surrounding ruined temples that pepper the landscape. The property feels authentic, a little bit luxurious and certainly stylish.
Each house has been completely restored; they once permeated the countryside and took years to find. Some even date back to the 1950s. The result is wonderful; the weathered houses look like they've always been there as they are also tucked into established tropical gardens and paddy fields.
Inside, the houses feel incredibly spacious, with a refined and contemporary interior. Think crisp white sheets, natural woven rugs, antique furniture and ethnic soft furnishings. The property also boasts a stylish bar and alfresco restaurant that serves Khmer classics such as fish-amok as well as western staples such as burgers and sandwiches - ideal if you are traveling with the kids. At the heart of the hotel is the most beautiful glassy pool, perfect for a dip in the heat of the afternoon.
We feel this is a fantastic option for those looking for something discrete, serene and authentic without compromising on comfort.
There are 11 houses in total, all with their own charm and history. Most are suitable for two to three guests, with House Pi and Bei and House Boun being ideal for families. House Pi and Bei is a two bedroom family house and is the largest at Sala Lodges. The first bedroom can sleep four people and the second bedroom can sleep three people, making it ideal for larger groups or families. House Boun can accommodate up to five people comfortably. All other houses sleep up to three people, vary slightly but all enjoy the authentic and chic style.
Sala Lodges Siem Reap warmly welcomes children, and can accommodate families in numerous private houses. There are no specific facilities, but there is a huge cool swimming pool and cots / extra beds can be requested.
There's a bar, a wonderful restaurant with al-fresco dining as an option, a large crisp pool, in-room massages and a library. Complimentary tuk-tuk rides through nearby villages and into town are also included.
