Temperatures in Bahia vary little from month to month and it's warm all year round, with average highs hovering around 30°C. April to July is the wettest season (though it can rain at any time) and June to September bring slightly cooler evenings. Salvador goes mad during Carnival (February or March depending on the year) - more than 2 million party-goers hit the streets for a colorful riot of dancing and drinking - expect prices to hike and availability to fall dramatically.
Txai is a stylish rustic chic resort on Brazil’s undeveloped Cocoa Coast in Bahia near the fishing town of Itacaré and set back from a stunning long stretch of beach. 38 stilted casitas are scattered throughout Txai's picturesque tropical gardens.
Txai Resort, located next to miles of unspoiled beaches amid acres of lush tropical garden, is one Bahia's most stylish and luxurious retreats.
Built individually on stilts and surrounded by wooden decks with details in palm thatch, the bungalows at Txai have been spread around the coconut groves to ensure maximum privacy. The interiors of the bungalows mix the rustic simplicity of Bahia with maximum comfort. Some of them feature Jacuzzis and private plunge pools.
The restaurant is surrounded by palms and serves many local delicacies as well as more international cuisine. Given the privileged beach location, a full range of watersports are on offer but you can also go horse riding into the Atlantic rainforest or why not explore the nearby river Rio de Contas in a canoe.
The Txai Resort provides accommodation in 38 guest rooms (14 rooms and 24 individual bungalows). All come with minibar, safe, air-conditioning, king size bed and some with their own private pool. Views vary according to the classification but many afford vistas of the ocean and tropical Atlantic forest.

Txai is all about relaxation and re-charging your batteries. Although it is mostly focused on adults, the large swimming pool is heaven for children and there is a little shallow pool beside it which a family can relax around, completely undisturbed.
A rainforest retreat on untouched Atlantic beaches. The thatched bungalows are integrated into the natural surroundings, where owner-run Txai inspires reforestation projects through community work. Go on eco-trips upriver and return to the spa; eat dinner - fresh crab and Bahian shrimp - in the restaurant overlooking the sea. The suites facing the ocean are all built on stilts and cooled by the breeze. Rustic simplicity and wafting muslin with internet access: this is how the eco-traveler lives now.
