To start planning your vacation to Lodge at Vail
One of the most established hotels in Vail, the Lodge at Vail is renowned for relaxed luxury and impeccable personal service. It combines the elegance and charm of a grand alpine chalet with the warmth of authentic Western hospitality and prides itself on a location unlike any other, even in Vail. Located at the base of Vail Mountain, at Pepi's Face piste, in the heart of the vibrant Vail Village, you'll find all you need within a few steps of the front door - from the village's main ski lift to the shops, bars and restaurants.
Guests can't fail to be impressed by the grand entrance to the hotel and a roaring log fire is always alight to welcome you. The Lodge at Vail's culinary reputation is equally well-known. The Cucina Rustica offers a traditional skiers breakfast menu and apres cocktails/appetizer menu by the outdoor fire pit. Elway’s is a fine dining restaurant, serving steak and seafood in a stylish setting. And the lively bar offers classic cocktails alongside really tasty appetizers.
The spa at The Lodge at Vail is a truly special experience. With an extensive treatment list, steam rooms, sauna, whirlpool, a fitness complex and classes, there is something for everyone for the ultimate apres-ski relaxation.
The Lodge at Vail has a traditional feel, and we would recommend it for couples and families with older children.

When to go
The ski season in the United States is longer than that in Europe. Most resorts open sometime in November, with Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in that month) being a common opening time, and stay open until mid to late April. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming have the highest peaks and due to the semi-arid climate, have abundant snowfall with some great powder. The exceptionally high altitude means December through to February can be extremely cold, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -12C, although the skiing conditions remain very good. Warmer temperatures in the Spring mean more variable skiing conditions and softer, forgiving snow.
