San Francisco is a year-round destination but has a cool maritime climate. In the summer, the city’s famous fog rolls in mornings and evenings, creating a misty chill in the air. Spring sees the end of the rainy season, and the city’s pretty-in-pink cherry blossom trees dot the landscape. In Fall Indian Summer comes to San Francisco, bringing warm, dry days with plenty of sunshine. The very best time of year is August to October when temperatures are at their highest and days are often sunny.

This hotel is set in a beautiful square made up from the old Chocolate factory. It is unusual to find this much space in a city hotel as there are large residences making it perfect for families or groups traveling for longer periods of time. It is a very short walk to the Fisherman's Wharf which is a must-see even for just a morning. It is also very close to a beautiful green park overlooking the water where you could people watch for hours with locals swimming, running and exercising in the park. I would recommend the residences in the Mustard wing so you can step right out onto the Mustard terrace but these wouldn't be ideal if you wanted slightly more privacy.
Catch a Baseball Game
Sports fan or not, you can't help but enjoy the ballpark; it's an experience so quintessentially American. Chow down on dogs and beer, hear the barrel organ fire up the crowd and cry "Outta Sight" as a 'homer' is hit.
Cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito
Hire a bike and cycle over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge from Fisherman's Wharf to charming Sausalito, perched on the hillside between the Bay and the Marin Headlands, or for the really energetic keep pedalling to Tiburon for lunch at Sam's!
Explore Alcatraz Island
Yes it’s touristy, but it’s hard not to be excited as you ride across the choppy waters of San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz Island. Along with a historical prison tour, Alcatraz offers a working lighthouse, tide pools, a fort, gardens and epic city views.
Feel small among the Redwoods
Getting into the redwood forest has been likened to visiting a great cathedral. The redwood forests of cool northern California are a reminder that we are just passing through. Easiest to access are Muir Woods near San Francisco.
North Beach Food Tour
Join this 3-hour tour that explores the Italian restaurant scene and Barbary coast. Visit hidden tunnels where booze was brought during prohibition and the coast's oldest pizza oven. Small group tour with 4 stops.
Pier 39 - Sealions and Submarines
Ever since fisherman first hauled out of Pier 39, sea lions have bellyflopped on the docks. More marine life can be seen at the Aquarium of the Bay, while street performers, fairground rides and an array of boat trips on the Bay thrill visitors.
