A true Caribbean resort, nestled among 12 acres of lush tropical gardens, East Winds is on a stretch of beach in one of the most sheltered bays in St Lucia.

The hotel consists of 30 rooms and one “mini-suite” located in quaint well appointed single storey cottages. All rooms are elegantly furnished and feature Rivolta Carmignani linen with either king sized or twin beds.

East Winds offers a wide range of facilities including an open-air restaurant serving authentic Caribbean cuisine, a small boutique and a free-form swimming pool with its own swim-up bar which you can help yourself to! Evening entertainment includes live piano music, soft-jazz and traditional St Lucia melodies.

The resort features an Activities Pavilion offering board games, table tennis, fitness equipment, a pool table and yoga classes. East Winds has an open air spa pavilion with two rooms offering a selection of treatments. There are also a wide range of complimentary water sports on offer and off-site activities at an additional cost include tennis, spa treatments, scuba diving, boat trips, fishing and island tours.

St. Lucia is renowned as one of the most beautiful of the Caribbean Islands. It offers a wide contrast of landscapes, ranging from one of the few remaining tropical rainforests of the region to the beautiful white and volcanic sand beaches. This is all dominated by the stunning view of the towering Pitons, the two lava cones which stand guard to St. Lucia's "walk-in" volcano, the Soufrière.

Informal, yet elegant and private. Spacious, but still romantically cosy. East Winds features ten Superior Rooms, 16 Deluxe Rooms, three Ocean View rooms and one mini-suite. Each of the rooms has its own private terrace or patio and are set amongst the lush tropical gardens. Superior rooms do not offer air-conditioning.

All rooms feature:

  • a private bathroom with shower (no rooms have baths)
  • direct dial telephone
  • clock-radio
  • in-room safe
  • multi-speed ceiling fan
  • coffee/tea making facilities and fridge

Superior Cottage

These majestic rooms are all Rondavels of a large hexagonal shape. They have a walk-in shower and adjoining walk-in wardrobe/service area with a small bar-sink unit in addition to a private semicircular shaded patio.

Maximum occupancy 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Deluxe Cottage

These spacious rooms are located in more recently built garden-bungalows. They feature an expansive bathroom with "His & Hers" basins and a wide semi-open-air shower and a small lobby with a wardrobe and dressing table. The open-air bar-sink and fridge units are a feature of the wide covered terrace through which the rooms are all independently accessed. Remote control cable television and VCR are special features of the deluxe rooms.

Maximum occupancy 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Ocean Front Room

These rooms were added to the hotel inventory through the complete renovation of a larger cottage. Located at the front of the property, closer to the beach, they offer a great sea-view from their traditional balconies. Although smaller in size than the other units, they feature the elegant facilities and privacy of the open-air "card-room"-lounge and its pantry.

Maximum occupancy 2 adults.

Ocean Front Suite

This one-of-a-kind accommodation was also added as part of the cottage refurbishment. The suite features a sea-view with a small separate sitting room, its own cloakroom and a large private sun-deck with an extra out-door shower. Cable TV and VCR also featured in the suite.

Maximum occupancy 3 adults.

Children over the age of 3 years are welcomed during the Easter vacations, June, July and August and over the Christmas and New Year vacations. The remainder of the year East Winds is an adult only hotel.

Activities kids will love on the island include the pirate hideaway of Marigot Bay, the drive-in volcano near Soufrière, the Maria Islands Nature Reserve to spot lizards and other wildlife, the nature trail at Diamond Botanical Gardens or head to Grand Anse on the east coast to watch giant leatherback turtles waddling ashore to nest.

Facilities at East Winds include an open-air thatched restaurant, spa pavillion, swimming pool with swim-up bar, library with books, board games and DVDs, yoga pavilion and an entertainment pavilion with table tennis, exercise equipment and billiards.

There is a busy schedule of activities organized by East Winds Inn's staff that include early Pilates or Yoga classes, Bocce games, guided walks, afternoon cocktails and shopping trips. Other activities include spa treatments in their open air pavilion, swimming, garden games, shuffleboard, board games, table tennis, and guided tour of gardens, hobie cats, pedalos, kayaks, aqua-view boards and snorkeling. Activities at an additional charge include off-site scuba, boat trips, fishing and island tours.

Regular entertainment and weekly manager’s cocktail party. Minimum stay of 6 nights all year round. Child under 4 years accommodated free all year round when sharing with two adults or with one adult booked in a single room.

Location & Directions

North Coast, St Lucia

Nestled on the lush, tropical island of St. Lucia, East Winds Inn is a true Caribbean paradise. One of the oldest and most established resorts in St.Lucia, East Winds Inn is set amongst 12 acres of lush tropical gardens bordered by the azure waters of La Brelotte Bay.

When to go

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
