Average time to visit
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

The hotel is suited for independent guests who are looking for apartment style accommodation; excellent for families. The two to three bedroom villa suite accommodation are dotted around the resort with various types of view. They are incredibly spacious with large sitting rooms, washing facilities and well equipped kitchens. There is a lovely stretch of beach in front of the hotel, water sports on offer and a kids club for the younger guests.

The accommodations at the Landings are so spacious and well designed. The property would suit perhaps more of an independent family who are keen to explore this area of the island, dine out some evenings, get a chef in another and have some quality family time. Being located around a Marina, there is great people watching and the beach is a popular place to hang out with a small local boat delivering fresh daily fruit at a small charge to guests.

The Landings is perfect for families or groups looking for larger accommodations. The Villas are very generous in size with en suite bathrooms. You can opt for a Marina or Beach view and you can sit on your balcony or in your Jacuzzi and take in the lovely views. All Villas come with a fully equipped, generously sized kitchen giving you the option of eating in (there are supermarkets a taxi ride away for supplies or the front desk will arrange for your shopping to be delivered).
I loved the beach here, lovely soft white sand, plenty of sun loungers generously spaced and beach service by using the flag system when you want something to eat or drink. Look out for the fruit boat too that passes a couple of times a day laden with fresh fruit and the cries of "Want some fruit" for you to paddle out to and buy. Swimming is perfect for families with shallow waters and water sports are readily available here too.
For those wanting to work out there is a fully equipped gym and they offer complimentary yoga Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 08:30. They also have a couple of tennis courts and they can arrange for a tennis pro to offer private lessons, I saw a couple of children having a lesson and lots of fun while I was there.
It is also a great base for those wanting to get out and about. Rodney Bay is easily accessible as are many of the local attractions.

The Landings is a great option for families or couples who would like the independence of apartment style accommodation. The Villa Suites are all incredibly spacious, and feature a full kitchen, including a washing machine and tumble dryer (so you don't have that mountain of washing to look forward to on your return home!). The nearest supermarket is just 7 minutes away, so self catering is very easy, or you can use the hotel restaurants or visit one of the many restaurants in Rodney Bay if you prefer not to cook.

The Landings is a very good value hotel with apartment style accommodation, perfect for families as it is so spacious! I would say this hotel is a 4 to 4.5 star hotel as it has lots of amenities. If possible request the Contemporary suites over the traditional ones if they are available, as they are a little more modern, newer furniture and have a crisper feel This will all be subject to availability. You can have suites in a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom configuration. The Kids club is great for children from 2 years if they are potty trained, they teach the children to Ti Dye, make cookies in the club to take to their oven in their suite and cook with their parents, a lovely touch. There is a $5 charge per child per hour. Infants under 2 years are welcome to go in with a babysitter. Baby sitting in the rooms is approximately $18 per hour for up to 2 children.
When you walk into the Reception area, it feels rather grand felt like a big London hotel with the high ceilings in the lobby.
The Food was nice especially as a 4-4.5 star, I recommend the Jalapeo Calamari deep fried with tomato salsa to start, followed by the Prawn & Scallop kebabs with stir fry veg, tomato salsa & cream sauce and timbale of tomato rice.
There is a sweet beach, with slightly silvery coloured sand, (St Lucia known for its 3 colours of sand -Silver, White/Golden or Black sand as a volcanic island) I recommend an early morning swim before Breakfast on your balcony!
They have English Plug sockets in the Bathroom with a good Wattage for our UK appliances, I recommend you take a good Hair dryer with you or request one from reception.

This hotel really stood out as a great family friendly option in St Lucia. The beach front suites are definitely recommended, the ground floor ones would be especially good for families opening right up onto the sand. The other suites I would say are not as well situated, and from some you can still see the unfinished blocks. However all of the Suites are very spacious and well equipped. The suites come in 2 styles, contemporary and traditional, I preferred the Contemporary myself, as they had darker wood and they seemed more up to date.
The proximity to Rodney Bay is also great, so you can either get a take away Pizza or try the local restaurants. There are also supermarkets if you wanted to self cater. This is great for people who do not like to feel trapped in a resort. Rodney Bay also has one of the only white sand beaches on St Lucia which is great for people who prefer this to the normal darker / black sand which can be found on St Lucia.

This is the place that put Harbour Island in every single glossy mag on the planet, thanks in part to former shareholders India Hicks (the granddaughter of Queen Victoria's great-grandson, one of Princess Di's bridesmaids, and, cruciallyfor the sake of the linens and to explain the Bruce Weber shots in the parlorformer Ralph Lauren model) and her boyfriend, designer David Flint Wood, who were responsible for the elegant interiors. Given all that, further description seems redundant: There are all the crisp white linens on mahogany four-posters, waxed wood floors, white shutters, and colonial cane chairs you'd expect in the 7 bedrooms. There's also a fine contemporary restaurant with a chef from Sydney (try the roast lobster), a library, and a fine wine and spirits shop featuring specially selected rum from the Caribbean and Cuba and the best selection of Bordeaux in the Bahamas (as well as a house rum and wine label, called Afro Head). In case you're too tired to make the five-minute walk to the beach, there's also a palm-shaded lap pool for swimming and lounging outside in the garden.

This is a relatively new addition to our portfolio and offers stunning all suite accommodation around a marina and onto one of the few white sand beaches on the island.
It is quite a large property, however, doesn't feel it when you are there as not all the suites are occupied at any one time. The suites vary from 1 to 3 bedroom and I would recommend the ocean view suites as they have lovely views over the bay. The harbour view suites may have glimpses of some building work ongoing on the opposite side of the marina. There shouldn't be any noise pollution though.
There is a great Beach restaurant which is really nice and relaxed for eating in and a good spot for sundowners and there's also a fine dining restaurant open in the evenings.
The Landings has a really wonderful spa with an array of treatments which all made you want to stop and enjoy for a while. I particularly liked the pedicure salon!
The Landings does really want to encourage families and has a small childrens club from age 4 and above, although they will be flexible and will often take younger children as long as they are toilet trained. For the older children there is a really good water sports centre on the beach as well as tennis.
The beauty of The Landings is that guests can self cater or use it like a hotel so it offers the best of both worlds. It is not the most intimate of hotels but its good value and great accommodation, particularly for families.
