Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The best and most popular times to visit Japan are the climatically stable seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November). The highlight of spring is the cherry-blossom season, which usually arrives in early April. Autumn is an equally good time to travel, with pleasant temperatures and soothing autumn colours, which usually peak between late October and mid-November. Of course, you can visit Japan anytime although the summer, from June to August, can be very hot and humid, and winter can be a little chilly for some people’s taste.

Description
This ryokan lies close to the Snow Monkey Park and offers both Western and Japanese rooms, indoor and outdoor hot spring baths and delicious ‘kaiseki’ meals that feature local ingredients and specialities.
Situated in Kanbayashi Onsen at the gateway to the Snow Monkey Park, Hotel Senjukaku is a traditionally designed property surrounded by forests of pine, cherry and maple trees. Communal and private indoor and outdoor hot spring baths are joined by a swimming pool, wifi and traditional multi-course restaurant to create a stay that is comfortable and welcoming.
The accommodation is light, bright and spacious, with many of the rooms featuring a private onsen or a seating area with breathtaking views over the forests and hills. Satellite TVs, complimentary wifi, and air-conditioning add modern conveniences, while the ensuite bathrooms come complete with kimonos, Japanese sandals and a range of bathroom amenities.
Famed for its hot spring waters, the property offers indoor and outdoor onsen on both a communal and private basis. Unwind in the hot waters of the outdoor onsen, surrounded by the changing colours of the trees, or enjoy a private bath in either a Japanese cypress or granite bath. Mealtimes provide an opportunity to experience a traditional meal where local and seasonal ingredients are used in a ‘kaiseki’, or multi-course menu designed by the head chef and presented with great flair.
Hotel Senjukaku’s close proximity to the Snow Monkey Park makes it a convenient base from which to visit to renowned macaques and a scenic 30-minute walk brings you to the park where the monkeys can be observed in the wild. The ski resort of Shiga Kogen is nearby, while the surrounding countryside offers beautiful trails for hiking and cycling.
This comfortable, stylish and scenically located property offers a range of accommodation options, delicious meals and onsite hot springs to enjoy when not exploring the picturesque countryside and the Japanese macaques of Snow Monkey Park.
