Today's journey brings you to the world's highest natural stone arch. You will hike approximately 4km with hiking boots to reach the arch.
Named after Eric Shipton, a former British consulate in Kashgar during the 1940s, Shipton's Arch gained its fame for its feature in the National Geographic expedition during the 2000. Shipton's Arch measures 460 metres tall, roughly the same size of the Empire State Building.
To get to Shipton's Arch, you will drive approximately 70km from Kashgar followed by a 4km hike. We recommend you to pack hiking boots in order to visit the arch.
