Chengkan & Lingshan Villages
The Yellow Mountains, Shanghai and Eastern China, China
Today's excursion brings you to the overlooked but amazingly well-preserved Chengkan and Lingshan villages, which looks frozen-in-time.
Nestled on an ancient waterway with Huizhou architecture, Chengkan village has elaborate layout arranged according to the Eight Diagrams in Yi Jing, taken directly from one of the oldest Chinese classic texts called "Classic of Changes". The village has kept most of its original layout with its pristine 700 households with less tourists and authentic atmosphere.
Afterwards, we continue to another off-the-beaten ancient village called Lingshan, known for its bamboo weaving culture as the village is surrounded by many bamboos. Walk through the ancient water street and breathe in the fresh air.
