The Airstream is operational all year. The very best time to go is from May to September, which is the drier season in the Andes. The Airstream may operate a slightly different schedule during the rainy season, which is from late November until beginning of April. Lake Titicaca is also at its most pleasant during this season. Chile's central valleys can be visited year-round, although generally boast more spring-like weather through May-November, and are slightly cooler in the evenings.

Fly to Santiago
-
Days 1-3: Central Valley
Arriving in Santiago, we suggest taking a couple of days to gently explore Chile's beautiful wine country, the perfect place to unwind after a long flight. Superb wines to taste, exquisite cuisine and a horseback ride through the estate make for a lovely start to the journey.
Accommodation: Clos Apalta Residence (2 nights)
-
Days 3-6: San Pedro de Atacama
Next, fly on to Chile's Atacama Desert, in the north of the country and yet worlds apart. Discover breathtaking scenery as you head out with the fabulous guides at your lodge each day, either on foot, horseback or vehicle to explore the geyser fields, indigenous villages, high altitude lakes and sharply eroded mountains.
Accommodation: Awasi Atacama (3 nights)
-
Days 6-8: La Paz
Crossing the border into Bolivia, the landscape takes on an epic quality. Travelling by 4x4, encounter the startling turquoise waters of Laguna Verde, overshadowed by the majestic Licancabur volcano and then the unearthly red hue of the Laguna Colorada with its huge flamingo colonies. Continue your adventure through multi-coloured mountains, bizarre rock formations, and deserts at nearly 5,000 metres (16,400ft) where only hardy vicunas and vizcachas can withstand the altitude, aridity and biting night temperatures.
Arrive to the humbling expanse of the Salar de Uyuni, where you’ll stay for two nights in a luxury Airstream camper. Having a mobile base makes it easier to explore the area – head to remote parts of the salt flats, visit local communities or climb the volcanoes at its edges. Trek to 800-year-old Aymara fortresses, visit pre-Inca tombs that hold intact mummies inside, and visit the famous train cemetery near Uyuni. At night, make use of the telescope and look to the skies to view Saturn’s rings amongst one of the world’s most pristine skies.
Accommodation: Airstream Uyuni (2 nights)
-
Days 8-10: La Paz
A short flight takes you to La Paz, the buzzing Bolivian capital. Spending a couple of nights here gives you time to explore the city's fascinating witches' market and lovely colonial quarter.
Accommodation: Casa Grande Suites (2 nights)
-
Days 10-13: Lake Titicaca
Finally, cross the border into Peru, to finish with three nights of sweeping views out to Lake Titicaca, staying at the fabulous Titilaka Lodge. This is a contemporary lodge which serves as the perfect haven for re-energising after a day's excursion to visit the reed island villages on the lake, the archaeological sites of Sillustani and Sun Island, or the splendid colonial churches of Lampa and Pomata.
