Average time to visit
The Central Valley is a year-round destination but the most pleasant months to visit are October to April. Summer (November to April) is hot, and there is lots of sunshine. Over winter (June to September) you’ll see the Andes wreathed in snow but the weather is chilly and rain can be an issue. Spring-like September is Chile's national independence month, and is full of activity.
To start planning your holiday to Vik Chile
Situated in a spectacular valley amongst nearly 4,500 acres of vineyards, hills and native woodland, Vik Chile is undoubtedly one of South America's top vineyards, and offers rustic refinement and outstanding hospitality for a truly memorable wine stay.
Vik Chile is serious about its wine. When owner Alexander Vik happened upon a vacant estate in the Cachapoal Valley, he immediately set about creating a premier grand cru classe that would be ranked amongst the world’s elite wines. His holistic approach means that land, climate, water, environment, nature and state-of-the-art technology have been harnessed to grow grapes of the highest quality. The prevailing breeze that cools temperatures in summer gives the wine its freshness.
Vik Chile has been recently refurbished to offer 22 suites of different sizes, all with breathtaking views towards the distant Andes, and across the estate with its highly photogenic vineyards. Then in early 2019, Vik introduced 7 Puro Vik glass suites nestled into the surrounding hillside.
The cuisine focuses on typical Chilean dishes made with fresh local produce and specially prepared to complement the wine list. The chef will tailor dishes to your individual preference, and one of the most rewarding experiences to have is a typical asado barbecue in the surrounding woods, with panoramic views out across the landscape.
Service is very personalised, and guests here not only have the opportunity to taste the incredible wines in the company of a master oenologist, but can inspect the unique wine production process, take horseback rides through the valleys and / or vineyard, hike some of the many routes through and above the estate, take out a mountain bike along one of the specially designed countryside trails, or explore the local region in a 4x4.
Vik Chile offers 22 rooms including 17 Suites, 4 Master Suites and 1 VIK Master Suite. Early 2019 saw the addition of 7 “Puro Vik” glass suites built into the surrounding hillside.
All suites enjoy staggering views of the surrounding landscape including the vineyards, lush Andean valleys, rolling green hills and a crystal-clear lake. They each have private facilities, a terrace, mini-bar, wireless telephone, WiFi, air conditioning and hair dryer.
Vik Chile's 17 uniquely styled suites boast stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Take in the vineyards, crystal clear lake and rolling Andean valleys through enormous windows from the comfort of your king size bed. Each suite has its own artistic flair and personality. Suite interiors feature ensuite bathrooms, min bar, telephone, wifi, hair dryer and air conditioning.
Vik Chile's five uniquely styled Master Suites boast stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Take in the vineyards, crystal clear lake and rolling Andean valleys through enormous windows from the comfort of your king size bed. Each suite has its own artistic flair and personality. Master Suite interiors feature panoramic windows, remote control blinds, complimentary wifi, a bluetooth speaker, mini bar, individual climate controls, and a modern ensuite bathroom with soaking tub and rain shower.
|Puro Vik Bungalow||
These new "Puro Vik" glass suites have been perfectly positioned to offer the best vantage points for living in exquisite, cool and romantic luxury while capturing the magnificent dramatic natural surroundings. Puro Vik offers a hospitality experience which is rare, inspiring and singular by design. They are equipped with living space, desk, and terrace overlooking the valleys, vineyards, and lake.
Children are very welcome, and extra beds as well as babysitting are easily provided. Although the main focus is naturally on the wine, there are sufficient activities in the surrounding area to keep older children fully occupied.
Guest can opt to dine in the hotel's own dining room which has spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The chef creates dishes to compliment the wine using local ingredients and international inspiration to satisfy your palates. For breakfast, you can choose to eat it in the dining room or have it in the comfort of your room.
There are many activities that you can embark on during your stay at Vik Chile. Wine tastings and tours are the most distinguished choice because of their expertise in the area. For the adventure seekers, 4x4 trips, horse riding, mountain biking and trekking can all be enjoyed while staying at Vik Chile. You can also choose to spend your time sunbathing at the infinity pool and solarium; or treat body and soul at the sauna, relax room or fitness centre.
Ali Andino (Staff)
When you walk in you are greeted friendly staff at the entrance. The main common areas are decorated with modern art and furniture. Each room is decorated with a different theme. Mine had a "tile" theme where there were hand painted tiles of a mural of the Vik Family in the bathroom and bedroom. Other rooms had a mimimalist theme or a japenese theme. Food was excellent, very artistic presentation. I was given a tour of the winery which is also very modern in terms of archiecture. All the rooms have floor to celing views of either the lake or vineyard.
