Sun Rocks is a couples-only boutique hotel with an intimate atmosphere and elegant, stylish décor. As the hotel is sculpted from the rock face all rooms are unique, with free-form stairs, vaulted ceilings and whitewashed rooms of contemporary design, blended with traditional Cycladic aesthetics. Each room and suite also has a private terrace overlooking the blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
Sun Rocks' romantic setting makes the hotel a magnet for honeymooners, and it is therefore a couples-only retreat.
Champagne breakfast overlooking the sea is taken daily at the poolside bar and restaurant, which also serves drinks throughout the day and traditional Mediterranean and Greek dishes for lunch and informal dinner. There is also a fine dining restaurant, Elea ('Olive Tree') which has just four romantic, candle-lit tables. Booking ahead is highly recommended as the cuisine is exceptional, with traditional Greek dishes given a sophisticated and exciting twist.
The pool is small but perfectly formed, boasting incredible sea views and surrounded with romantic double sun loungers. Although there is no spa, the hotel does offer a massage studio where a number of treatments are available.
Sun Rocks has just 17 rooms, ranging from a Double Room to the Sun Rocks Suite. All rooms feature air-conditioning, mini bar, satellite TV, iPod, bathrobes, slippers and luxurious amenities, and the majority boast stunning sea views from private verandas. Superior Suites, Experience Suites and the Honeymoon Suite also have a private Jacuzzi, while the Sun Rocks Suite offers a private infinity pool overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Boasting a spacious bedroom and living room, Junior Suites make the perfect retreats from the Santorini sun. Measuring 30 sqm, there is ample space for two, and the private veranda offers beautiful Caldera views.
Measuring approximately 35 sqm, the Superior Suites have a large bedroom, spacious living room, and a private veranda boasting its own Jacuzzi.
Experience Suites have open-plan bedroom and living area, including an indoor sunken Jacuzzi. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer incredible Caldera views.
With a separate bedroom and living room, the Honeymoon Suite makes for the perfect couple's retreat. The suite measures approximately 50 sqm, provides an indoor Jacuzzi and large private veranda.

The Pool Bar serves a good selection of wines and cocktails throughout the day and offers regular sunset tastings of native Santorini wines.

Sun Rocks is located in the village of Firostefani, less than 1 kilometer from the island’s capital of Fira on Santorini's west coast.
When to go
Santorini is a summer destination, and hotels only operate between late April to late October. On average, the warmest months of the year are July and August, when the beaches and towns are more crowded with other visitors. June and September are good months to visit, when the island is quieter but temperatures are still high.
