This luxurious hideaway is tucked into the cliffs in the pretty village of Theole-sur-Mer on the Cote d'Azur. Tiara Miramar offers a boutique hotel and a peaceful location which is the ideal base for exploring this iconic coastline. The tropical gardens are full of little corners with sun loungers and cabanas where you can hide away and soak up the sun.
The real jewel in the crown for Tiara Miramar is the hotel's direct access to the sea, with steps from which you can hop straight in for a swim to the floating sunbathing pontoon. The pool area is a popular spot, with luxurious draped daybeds, pairs of loungers and of course unspoiled sea views and the beach bar nearby to serve you a cool drink or cocktail.
There are just 59 rooms here, most of which have sea views and balconies. Each is stylish and contemporary in its design, with crisp linens and bright jewel colors in the cushions and throws. All are air conditioned and have complimentary WiFi internet and mini bar.
The Tiara Spa offers a range of pampering treatments and products, with four treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and relaxation room. There is also a state of the art gym with sea views. Across the road from the hotel is a tennis court with rackets available to borrow.
Dining is a real highlight here, with several options to choose from. Bistrot M offers a luxurious dining experience with delicious Mediterranean flavors. Moya is a more casual beachside option serving snacks, burgers and salads. In room dining is also available 24 hours per day, and the property's sister restaurant L'Or Bleu offers a delightful setting on the terrace with beautiful gourmet cuisine.
There are various room categories here to choose from and many of the rooms interconnect, ideal for families. The six Classic rooms measure 215 sq ft, with hillside views and all of the amenities you'd expect in a luxury hotel. The seven Superior rooms measure 300 sq ft and boast garden views from a private terrace. The fourteen Deluxe rooms are 290 sq foot and enjoy sea views and a balcony where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Cote d'Azur coastline. The 19 Prestige rooms measure 280 sq ft and are located at garden level, with daybeds on a private terrace where you can enjoy ocean views. The 9 Junior suites offer either garden or sea views and measure 390 sq ft, with a lounge and either terrace or balcony overlooking the garden or sea respectively. The three luxury suites are particularly spacious, measuring 450 sq feet and each with a terrace overlooking the sea as well as a separate lounge area. The Miramar suite is vast, measuring 2150 sq ft, with separate lounge, dining room, walk in wardrobe and library, as well as a terrace overlooking the sea and garden with sofas. Finally there is a 3-bedroom villa, Villa Azura, offering all of the seclusion of a private residence with the services of a luxury hotel. There are three bedrooms, three terraces overlooking the sea and gardens, a lounge, dining area and kitchen.
Children are welcome at Tiara Miramar and 30 of the 59 rooms interconnect, making it an ideal option for families. The suites all have a sofa bed which can accommodate young ones and children under 12 are accommodated for free if they are sharing a room with their parents. Both Moya and Bistrot M offer a Mini Menu for younger guests, and the superior and higher room categories have space for an additional bed.
During the summer, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the spacious terrace with direct ocean views or inside is a charming restaurant that has elevated sea views too.
Despite its boutique size the hotel offers a superb spa, fitness room and tennis court. Hire cars can be arranged through the concierge to explore neighboring towns and villages such as Mandelieu la Napoule.
As well as enjoying the beautiful surroundings, the hotel can arrange a variety of activities to explore the local area. Located on the Cote d'Azur in a peaceful residential area in the beachside village of Theole sur Mer. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Cannes, 45-minutes from Nice Airport, or 1-hour 20-minutes from St Tropez.
When to go
The Cote d'Azur enjoys a pleasant, Mediterranean climate. On average, this region gets 300 days of sunshine each year, with warm but mild temperatures. Summer is high season here, with August bringing the hottest weather and the biggest crowds. Spring is a great time of year, the weather is warm, with temperatures swaying between 16 and 20°C, and the crowds are small. If you want to see lavender fields then it would be best to visit the region in June. In October the weather starts to cool. Fall is also the start of the wettest weeks of the year. October sees an average of 3.7 inches of rain, with an average of three inches following in November. Still, it never gets all that chilly and snow is rare. In January, the mercury rarely dips beneath the -1°C.
