Courchevel offers a great balance of high and medium altitude and predominantly north-facing slopes to offer excellent skiing throughout the winter. In December, huge capacity for artificial snowmaking and the connection to the Val Thorens valley make good skiing probable. Courchevel really comes into its own from January to March, typically seeing regular snowfalls. When it gets really cold, runs to the lower villages are bearable and come spring time, north-facing pitches hold up well.

Courchevel is one of the world’s premier ski resorts with good reason. The skiing has breadth and depth that is unequalled. The extent of the Three Valleys combined with perfectly groomed runs, vertiginous off-piste couloirs, gentle runs at village level and much admired tree skiing mean Courchevel has lots for skiers of all standards.
Courchevel is part of the largest ski area in the world, with 600km of runs to enjoy. Guests staying in Courchevel 1650 are within easy reach of the two nearby valleys; Meribel and Val Thorens, and of course Courchevel 1850. Cross country ski runs through the trees are great fun for those wanting to push themselves that bit further. There is great off-piste skiing around Courchevel 1650 in addition to snowparks and easy beginner slopes.
Apart from skiing, the village has plenty to offer - from many famous eateries, to a flight from the famous altiport. The toboggan run to 1550 is another favourite, and snowshoeing and paragliding can also be enjoyed.

Having the ski shop in the basement of the hotel was fabulous - they provided excellent service and could not have been more helpful.
Zhao Family - February 2017 (Guest)
Great ski facilities, brilliant teaching and a lovely spa. The childcare was the best component of our holiday. It was fantastic. Both Sophie and Fasana were brilliant. Great hotel, fantastic ski resort and wonderful childcare
Narula Family - April 2017 (Guest)
Jane (Scott Dunn Representative) was great - we emailed and spoke before arrival and she sorted out everything we asked for. We met her a couple of times in resort and she texted a few times to check all well. Perfect level of contact. In the Kids Club, the girls were fantastic which made all the difference to our holiday as our son loved going there! In particular Sophie and Farzana were amazing. They took the children out most afternoons or had them playing games 'in house'. It was always a battle to get our son to leave!

This is the first time we've used Scott Dunn and we we are thoroughly impressed. Your service has been excellent. Jane in resort was very helpful and reliable. I would especially like to single out the kids club team, who were excellent, especially Fazana and Sophie. I thought Sophie was the head of the team, as she was so organised and in the ball. I truly cannot compliment their service enough. We hope to book again in the summer and would love to think the service will be as good. I will be writing directly to the Portetta as well, to compliment them on their excellent hotel.

La Portetta is the perfect choice for both families and couples who are looking to explore the extensive ski area of the 3 valleys, whilst enjoying the slightly quieter resort of Courchevel Moriond. The Portetta has a lovely traditional feel that welcomes both families and couples. This is just a fantastic hotel for families, I loved the food, the location and the service. Courchevel Moriond has always been a favourite of mine and now there is finally somewhere amazing to stay for families and couples!
As one of the largest aquatic centres in the Alps, Aquamotion offers swimming with flumes, indoor surfing, inflatables and a climbing wall as well as a fitness gym, spa and fitness classes such as yoga.
Après ski with a difference. If there's still some energy to burn off at the end of the day, the climbing wall at Courchevel 1850 is an entertaining option.
Drive a piste basher
A mountain experience that is quite possibly every child's (and adult's) dream when they see these being driven up and down the pistes.
Hot air ballooning
A serene and peaceful way to see the Alps, a hot air balloon ride will make your holiday truly memorable.
Skiing The Three Valleys
Being part of the three valleys means Courchevel has access to a vast area of pistes for your enjoyment, 600km of them to be exact.
Once night has fallen and the skiers have deserted the slopes, you can still enjoy the thrill of shooting down a mountain with the wind in your face – on a sledge!
