The climate in Cyprus warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From March/April onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May and October are particularly pleasurable months.

Colliver Family - August 2018 (Guest)
The Explorers staff were fantastic. Friendly, caring, dedicated. The kids loved the activities and were happy to be left from the first day. The children loved the water park and pottery visits! And as parents it was just wonderful to see how happy and relaxed they were trotting off with Mel and Erica and their new friends!
Customer service is very important to us - and at every stage, from the moment I first spoke with Olivia to enquire
about booking a vacation to the moment we left the hotel to fly home, we felt taken care of. It meant we could truly relax and switch off, both in the lead-up to the vacation and while we were there. Truly excellent service which means we will definitely use Scott Dunn again.
Bladon Family - April 2017 (Guest)
We have been at the Alymra with our two girls ages 5 and 7 for the last two weeks. I had never booked a vacation with Scott Dunn but I am delighted I did. The girls were in kids club most mornings because they loved it. The activities were varied every day. They were doing pottery, trips to zoo, swimming to name a few. The kids club staff Laura and her team in Yoyagers - Lauren ( who babysat for us also), Erika, Mel and the lovely Emily. This team are solid, professional childcare individuals. I needed to feel my kids were safe and were going to be kept an eye on at all times. The club provided this and they genuinely enjoyed the kids. In the evening there were movies, coloring in and kids club open for an hour and half - just long enough to eat our meal and actually have a conversation. There was no additional charge for this as we were already using the kids club. What a great idea - parents thinking of coming here Don't miss out on this bonus. Whilst the kids were there my husband and I enjoyed the gym, the spa, yoga on the terrace and some other classes. The rooms were great. I have read some reviews saying the hotel needs modernising - i don't agree at all. Its beautiful. The staff at dinner are faultless and friendly . The manager Mr Constantine was fabulous. A true gentleman and kept guests happy always. He runs a great restaurant in the hotel and his team are lovely. Every day the lady in the kitchen making omelettes said hello and remembered me. With such a high turnover of guests it was so sweet she still remained pleasant. A lovely team. The food was fabulous. I would have loved more sushi but thats not a negative just a point to make. We will come back and we will always book with Scott Dunn now - thanks you to Hugo Snell at Scott Dunn for telling me this was a great vacation to book. Your service was fabulous from start to finish. Well done team Almyra and Scott Dunn.

The Alymra is bright and contemporary in style and located on the sea front, just a stones throw away from Paphos. This is an exceptional choice for families as a year-round destination, with two separate well-equipped spaces for children, several pools and even a canopy over the main pool to protect the children from the sun! Do bear in mind that the Almyra is a waterfront hotel, it is not a beach hotel and the quality of the beaches nearby are poor.
The restaurant, Notios offers delicious Japanese influenced Mediterranean cuisine and should not be missed! All year-round, if you decide to select bed and breakfast youll also get buffet evening meal free of charge this gives you the freedom to wander into Paphos or indulge in the wide selection offered at the Mosaics restaurant. Half board gives you the flexibility to take the meal option for lunch or dinner, except the seafront taverna although this should not be missed!
Jenny James (Staff)
The Almyra service is faultless, on arrival you are immediately greeted by the efficient and friendly staff. The food was excellent, especially in Notios, which offers Japanese influenced Mediterranean cuisine. I would highly recommend booking a table here with sea front and harbor views where you can enjoy the sunset from.
The hotel feels like a haven amongst the bustling town of Paphos, the main pool is beautiful with a sail canopy to provide shade over the water for the children. The Eauzone Spa is located next to the adult pool and has a very tranquil atmosphere, the gym has the best views from the hotel, if you manage to go! The Kyma Suites and Terrace Sea View rooms occupy the best positions with sea views and garden access, for a family these rooms connect too.
Overall the Almyra is a fantastic hotel with excellent facilities for both couples and families.
Charlotte Austin (Staff)
I was lucky enough to stay in a Kyma Suite and would definitely recommend them, for a family of 4 you can also have two suites connecting. These are right at the front of resort so there are uninterrupted views of the sea. There is also a great roof terrace although this can get quite warm!
