To start planning your vacation to Bespoke Hideaways Desert Camp
The Bespoke Hideaways Desert Camp in the stunning Wadi Rum provides six tented suites, four of which have double beds and two of which have twin beds. The spacious suites also have a private deck and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower, a copper basin and a private loo, meaning you don't have to compromise on comfort in order to experience the wilderness of the desert.
The camp is the first of its kind in Jordan to be completely eco-friendly, with power provided by solar cells. This means there are electric lights throughout the camp, with oil lanterns and candles available for those who prefer a more rustic ambience.
The central tent is handmade by the Bedouins and serves as lounge and dinner area. Dinner is an occasion in itself, with traditional Bedouin cuisine served either inside the main tent or alternatively a table can be set up under the stars. You can enjoy breakfast on a sandstone hill beside the camp, looking out over the incredible desert panorama. Special dietary options can be arranged on request and bottled water is provided for guests during their stay at the camp.
The sofa area at the front of the camp provides the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset or for an evening of star-gazing.
The camp is made up of six tents, consisting of four doubles and two twins. All of the tents are en-suite with copper sinks, hot showers and a private loo. The decoration is simple, with touches of Arabian style including embroidered cushions inspired by the colors of the desert. There are also electric lights within the tents, providing an extra level of comfort.
Children are welcome at the camp but no childcare facilities are in place. We would recommend taking children here from the age of 6 years.
Dinner is served at the camp each night either in the central tent or on a table set up under the stars. The cuisine is traditional Bedouin fare served family-style, meaning you can try a variety of delectable options.
Each tent has its own bathroom, stocked with lovely toiletries. There is a copper sink, private loo and a shower with hot running water.
Due to the use of solar power there are electric lights throughout the camp and within the tents, and there are also oil lamps and candles available to create a more mystical atmosphere.
Explore the magnificent natural beauty of the desert either by camel, jeep or on a trek. Wadi Rum has been used as a background setting in a number of Sci-Fi films depicting alien planets, which testifies to its unique colors and geography. The desert is at its most striking during April when the wildflowers are in bloom.

When to go
For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
