Inle Heritage is a beautiful authentic house and boutique hotel built in the traditional local style, right in the heart of the community of Inpawkhon Village on Inle Lake, with a strong ethos for giving back to this community.
Inle Heritage is a charming restaurant, gallery, cookery school and boutique hotel, among other things. It is totally unique and feels like a home from home; friendly and welcoming.
Thahara Inle Heritage is the name of the hotel, which comprises just six quirky bungalows sitting on stilts above Inle Lake. Built with local teak, hardwood and bamboo, the gorgeous bungalows are decked out with interiors from local manufacturers. It was built with the aim of preserving their heritage and has strong ties to the local community.
The house also acts as a Hospitality Vocational Training Center, training the next generation of young local students in sustainable tourism. They have successfully launched a Burmese Cat Reintroduction Program on site, sourcing this neglected breed of cats from around the world, protecting them and introducing a breeding program.
The restaurant serves exquisite local Inthar cuisine, some of the best you can find in Myanmar, made from seasonal produce, fresh from their own organic garden. It is a delightful experience to stay here and offers much more than just a beautiful place to rest your head.
The six bungalows are built on stilts above the lake and are fully equipped with all the modern amenities you need to enjoy your stay. The hotel provides wireless internet access in public areas.
They use seasonal produce home grown in their organic garden to produce mouth-watering recipes in their Inthar Restaurant and Cat's Cafe. They also run a Cooking Experience on request from their own kitchen, teaching local recipes passed down through generations.

A completely unique experience, staying at Inle Heritage House really feels like you are contributing to the local community as it has a hotel and hospitality training school. The food is also excellent and the Burmese cat sanctuary is very sweet!

This unique property is characterful and charming. It is so much more than a hotel; with a delicious restaurant, vocational training center and Burmese Cat Sanctuary there. The food at the restaurant was some of the best local food I ate during my whole 2 week trip in Myanmar.
It offers an amazingly memorable experience for a nights stay in the heart of Inle Lake. The hotel is as boutique as you can get, with just 6 rooms, and consequently has a wonderful, intimate atmosphere to it. It has a strong ethos for giving back to the local community, adding to its appeal.
