Description

A chance to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature, a stay at the exclusive and stylish Amantica Lodge overlooking the glittering blue waters of Lake Titicaca will leave you feeling refreshed and revived.

Located on the island of Amantani overlooking Lake Titicaca and the Andes, Amantica Lodge is an exclusive retreat of just two suites. Built to blend into its surroundings, the property sits on a rocky outcrop, featuring adobe walls, totora reeds and island stone, with rustic luxe interiors. Owned and run by Oswaldo and his family who have lived on the island for generations, they are happy to share their history, culture and lifestyle with guests. Meals are prepared by the accomplished Adeli based on the philosophy of slow-cooking and paired with select wines. The property takes its environmental credentials seriously, using solar-power and donating time and money to improving the lives of the local community. The island can be reached by boat from the Capachica Peninsula.

Amantica Lodge has two glass-walled suites which are connected by a shared bathroom. The property is only available to book in its entirety and so would suit either a couple using just one of the rooms or a family. The main suite includes a wood-burning stove, comfortable bed, TV and opens onto the sun terrace for wonderful views of the lake. The second bedroom includes twin beds and overlooks the island of Taquile, while the large bathroom features a relaxing Jacuzzi carved into the rock. Furnishings are simple but sophisticated and stylish and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Adeli’s Andean menu is created with 100% local and organic produce and menus can be tailored to dietary requirements.

This remote island location is an opportunity to take some time out to relax, although various authentic activities are on offer including a trip to the floating island and community of Uros, trekking to Pachatata or visiting the archaeological site of Sillustani. A unique property which makes a romantic retreat, ideal for those wanting to unwind.
