Only seven miles from downtown Aspen in the heart of Snowmass' new Base Village, the Viceroy Snowmass offers contemporary, luxurious studios and residences designed for a true home-from-home experience. With residences ranging from one to four bedrooms, ideal for families or couples alike, they feature sumptuous furnishings, kitchenettes or full kitchens, washer-dryers and balconies with a view. Couple this with imaginative dining and lounging, a Ute Indian-inspired wellness spa, and a pool terrace and café and you have an ideal mountain retreat.
The hotels signature restaurant Eight K’s menu features modern cuisine, with a emphasis on local, sustainable and organic ingredients so typical of Aspen eateries. Although open for breakfast and lunch, it is in the evening that Eight K comes to life. Boasting the longest bar in Colorado from which staff serve up creative cocktails and creative selection of wines. The Library lounge with over-stuffed sofas and roaring fireplace is the place for a cocktail after an action-packed day or a nightcap after dinner.
Nest bar, located slope side adjacent to the pool, is the happening spot in Snowmass for poolside lounging - get there early to bag a poolside cabana. The bar features pub favorites and a list of more than 50 Colorado micro brews.
Snowmass is a hub for adventure and culture during warmer months; downhill mountain biking, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, fly-fishing and mountain-top hiking. Make sure you're in the village mid-week to whoop and cheer at Wednesday night Rodeo and on Thursday take a picnic to the village's free Thursday night concert at Fanny Hill.
After a great day out exploring, head for the hot tubs or book a massage in the Spa. The relaxation room, complete with stunning antler chandelier and cosy fur-covered relaxation beds is the place to relax and revive tired muscles and minds.
All 173 studios and residences have king or queen beds, high-definition flat-screen TVs with DVD players, gas fireplaces with glass fronts and granite surrounds. Studios have convenience kitchens and residences have full kitchens with polished black granite counters and premium appliances, including coffee and espresso machines and milk frothers. Washer/dryers are also in one- to four-bedroom residences.

At the base of Snowmass village and only seven miles to Aspen town center, the Viceroy Snowmass is perfectly positioned to explore the unspoiled natural wilderness, pristine rivers, and surrounding area.
When to go
Aspen Snowmass has an extreme continental climate with very cold winters and warm summers. Activities are very seasonal. Spring, from late April to June, is marked by mild days and cold nights, with some rain and occasional snow. Summers offer warm days and cool nights and a profusion of brightly colored wildflowers. Expect blue sky days with occasional short afternoon showers. Outdoor adventure and an abundance of art, culture and music events, many of which are free, attract visitors to Aspen in the summer. The first big event of the year being the Food and Wine Classic scheduled towards end of June, with events running through September.
In autumn, the aspen and cottonwood run gold and red displaying a spectacular fall show. The days are sunny, with cold nights. Rain eventually gives way to snow. Winter brings with it enough deep snow to keep a skier happy well into April.
