The best time to visit Kyushu is in the spring from March – May with pleasant warm temperatures and autumn from September – November when days will still be warm. The summer months from mid-June to early July can be very wet with torrential rain and July - August are the hottest months with high humidity. December – February is usually reasonable but temperatures can drop below freezing with snowfall.

Hanare No Yado Kamigakure is a little gem located on Kyushu - Japan’s fourth largest island and a treasure trove of natural attractions. Hanare No Yado Kamigakure is well-located in Takachiho, just a few minutes’ walk from Takachiho Shrine, and a short drive from the gorge.
All of the rooms are scattered around the ryokan’s gardens, providing an element of privacy.  Each one is simplistic in design, with traditional Japanese features such as open-air baths and sociable seating areas. The accommodation combines a clean style with modern features and a local twist. All of the rooms are furnished with a TV, air-conditioning and bathroom. The property's Shokusai Restaurant uses local ingredients, including Wagyu beef, to create perfectly balanced Japanese dishes.

Guests can choose between twin rooms with Western-style beds, or Japanese rooms with tatami mats. All are spacious, and tastefully decorated in a simple, clean and traditional style. All rooms come with a TV, air-conditioning and en-suite facilities. Choose between an inside or outside bath, for that special Japanese experience.
