Train Ride through the Kwai Noi Gorge
Take a short train ride along the infamous Thailand-Burma Railway, also known as the 'Death Railway' due to the thousands of POWs and labourers that died during its construction. The countryside's picturesque scenery contrasts with poignant history.
Travelling to Kanchanaburi is a step into old Thailand dating back to World War II. A must during this visit is taking a short train ride along the Thailand-Burma Ralwaiy, otherwise infamously known as the Death Railway because of the thousands of POWs and labourers that died during its construction. Despite its past rife with such tragedy, however, the view over the Kwai Noi Valley and the picturesque countryside provides such a beautiful contrast to its history.
