The Hellfire Pass Museum offers a moving insight into the lives and working conditions of the Prisoners of War and forced labourers while building the 'Death Railway'.

The pass is named for the torches that lit the narrow canyon so that workers could continue through the night. Take a walk along the former railway embankment, where you can still see tool marks in the rock and where relatives of those who perished still leave mementos and photographs. The path can be uneven and there are steep steps, so we recommend sturdy footwear.
