Description

Fly to Argentina's vibrant capital, Buenos Aires, a great to spot to kick off your honeymoon in style. Explore San Telmo’s cobbled streets, local markets, and contemporary art galleries and see the locals practice tango. People watch in chic Recoleta, marvel at the French classical architecture, stroll through elegant boulevards home to designer boutiques, and enjoy the street art scene in nearby Palermo before heading out for incredible steak and wine.

After enjoying a relaxing few days in this iconic city, fly south where the real adventure begins! Patagonia is one of the great unspoiled wildernesses of the world; think snow-capped peaks, shimmering lakes and towering glaciers. For easy access to the region's incredible landscapes, including the Perito Moreno glacier, one of Argentina's top highlights, base yourself at Esplendor El Calafate and enjoy a wealth of adventures from biking to hiking amongst dramatic glaciers and mountains.

From here, head over the border to Chile to perhaps the most impressive National Park in all of South America, Torres del Paine. Here the continent falls away in a dazzling explosion of imposing glaciers, deep blue lakes, iridescent icebergs, waterfalls and spectacular jagged peaks. Stay in a luxury yurt just outside the park whilst enjoying a whole host of exciting outdoor activities from trekking, kayaking, fishing and horse riding to mountain biking and glacier visits.

Now we bring you back to civilization with a flight north to Santiago and head to the coast to the colorful town of Valparaiso for some time to relax after your adventures before you fly home.

When to go

Buenos Aires is a year round destination although October through to April is considered the best time to visit as temperatures are warmer. January is the hottest month with an average temperature of 25°C (76°F) and the coldest is July at 12°C (53°F).

Southern Patagonia is best visited from November to March when temperatures are milder but visitors should be prepared for strong winds and changeable weather at any time. It is worth considering traveling outside this time, especially rewarding in April (for autumn colors) or October (for spring flowers) because winds can drop significantly and there are fewer visitors in the National Parks.

Santiago has a temperate-warm climate, with pleasant temperatures most of the year. December, January and February are the best months to travel, as temperatures are warmer at around 23 °C and tend to be drier. The average minimum temperature in July and August is around 8 °C.
