The Hotel Rosa Alpina is a beautiful family run hotel, in the quaint village of San Cassiano nestled in the Italian Dolomites. The renowned restaurant St Hubertus has recently been awarded its third Michelin Star and has also just been made a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. The 51 rooms and the Chalet Zeno, which is also owned by Rosa Alpina, have a contemporary elegance with natural materials reflecting the natural surroundings. The living area is furnished with authentic local antiques and the bathrooms have a ceramic or marble bath. The Suites are furnished according to different themes which refer to the local culture and include a comfortable sitting area with sofa. Some suites have a fireplace or tiled stove.
The outstanding restaurants range from Michelin-starred gourmet cuisine, to simple Alpine and Italian specialties. At the Wine Bar & Grill delicious pizzas are cooked in a wood oven fire and a fantastic breakfast buffet is served at Limonaia restaurant.
The Spa offers a full range of luxurious treatments, complimented by two different wellness areas. The family wellness area has a swimming pool and saunas and welcomes children and the new wellness wing for guests aged 16 and over which has saunas, hammam and an indoor swimming pool with a relaxation area. The perfect place to unwind and indulge your senses after a hard day's skiing.
The Dolomites are situated in the Southern Alps in the north of Italy. The ski domain is known as the Dolomiti Superski and consists of 460 lifts and 760 miles of ski runs. The area consists of 12 valleys all accessible under one ski pass. The Rosa Alpina is located in San Cassiano at 1535m in the Alta Badia valley. Apart from downhill skiing the area offers some of the most beautiful settings for those who enjoy the cross country skiing, excursions with mountain guides, snow shoeing, ice climbing or simply sledging.
The Rosa Alpina is also ideal for summer alpine adventures.
Deluxe rooms are divided into those with south facing balcony and those with a more spacious living area and bathroom. The living area is furnished with authentic local antiques and the bathrooms have a ceramic or marble bath. The Suites are furnished according to different themes which refer to the local culture. They include a comfortable sitting area with sofa and dispose in part of a fireplace or tiled stoves. The bathrooms feature walk-in showers, bath tub and double basins. Especially ideal for families, the Rosa Alpina has a number of Suites and rooms that can interconnect.
|Deluxe Double Room||
Deluxe Double Rooms, sized 30 - 41 m², are divided in those with balcony facing south and in those with a more spacious living area and bathroom. They dispose all of a Ladin style living area with authentic local antique furnishings. The bathrooms have a ceramic or marble bath with shower, some with walk-in shower and double basins.
These suites are spacious and elegantly decorated. Sized 43 – 50 m², they are equipped with a stylish living area, twin beds, some have a balcony. The spacious bathrooms feature bathtub, walk-in shower and double basins.
|Luxury Chalet Loft Suite||
Exquisitely unique, each of the state-of-the-art Châlet Loft Suites in the wooden Chalet wing, is designed using elements of the region. The Châlet Loft Suites are open-plan and sized around 50m² with a 10 m² terrace facing south. Each has flat-screen televisions, stereos and high speed internet access. The open fireplace provides a welcoming focal point, while a relaxing sitting area and natural wooden floors from an ancient Austrian farm house add warmth to the sophisticated accommodation. Supremely relaxing beds with luxurious touches such as goose down duvets provide ultimate comfort, while indulgent and spacious marble bathrooms with hammam showers and bathtub complement this very special hotel experience.
Located on the fourth floor of the “Engelstrakt” wing, the spacious Penthouse Suite with two-bedroom plus staff room offers a residential setting with fully equipped kitchen, spacious living area for relaxation and entertaining with a cosy fire-place. Views of the mountain can be enjoyed from both inside and out. The living area features a fireplace, dining table and a double sofa bed. The living area is equipped with large LCD TV, DVD, Wii console for entertainment, two further TVs are in the bedrooms. The dining table seats up to six people and the Bulthaup kitchen is fully equipped. Upon request, a chef and waiter are available for private dinners, wine tastings, cooking classes. Additional amenities include direct dial dual-line telephones, high-speed Internet access, in-room safe, a built-in work area and oversized closets. Two bathrooms with separate deep soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower and WC.
In our Suites, seized 44-58m², the living area can be separated from the bedroom and are themed with the local culture. They include a comfortable sitting area with sofa and either have a stove or a fireplace. Some Suites are on two floors. The bathrooms feature walk-in showers, bath tub and double basins.
|Deluxe Single Room||
The airy Deluxe Single Rooms with 27 m² are equipped with a queen-sized bed and a bathroom with shower. They feature a small sitting area.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Rosa Alpina. There is a children’s room and kids program available at the hotel. Babysitting is available on request.
St Hubertus is the hotel's three Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant and the Wine Bar & Grill is a stylish but informal restaurant, specializing in homemade, authentic pasta dishes, pizzas, salads and local specialties. A rich and healthy breakfast buffet is served at Limonaia. The Spa and Wellness area has an indoor swimming pool and saunas available for families to use as well as a new area dedicated to guests above 16 years with an indoor heated swimming pool, relaxation area, saunas and hammam.

With Norbert Niederkofler as head chef this is a 3 Michelin starred restaurant with gourmet dining. Open for dinner only, closed on Tuesdays.

An informal restaurant serving grilled meat and vegetables along with home made pasta dishes, rich salads and local specialties.
Where breakfast is served with fresh baked breads and pastries in front of panoramic windows. Also offers gluten free products.
A small, intimate restaurant serving cheese and meat fondue as well as chocolate fondue. Ideal after a full day's skiing. Fondues need to be pre-booked before 5pm.

For something a bit different or a special occasion the mountain lodge at 2000m may be hired for a day with fresh food delivered for guests to cook on the grill. The table is set and guests are then left to their own private time.

Not far from the Austrian border, the Rosa Alpina Hotel & Spa is in the heart of the Italian Dolomites in the tiny village of San Cassiano in Badia. The Dolomites are a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. The Rosa Alpina is only 300m from the ski lift.
When to go
The climate in Alta Badia is a typical alpine microclimate - winters are long and cold and from December to February average temperatures are below zero and night time temperatures can fall to minus 20°C. There are great differences between daytime and night time temperatures. Winters are snowy but approximately 100 days of sunshine between December and March is the norm.
