Beautifully designed throughout, Villa Peia is a stunning seven bedroom house offering luxury accommodation, but with all the facilities you might expect from a small boutique hotel. Venetian influences and muted tones feature both inside and out, and the whole villa blends effortlessly into both the landscape and the cleverly designed gardens, which are simply stunning. Peia offers complete privacy, with an impressive main house, terraces, soft seating galore, sauna, children's cinema room, separate pool house, boat mooring with the facility to hire a Sunseeker or Yacht if required, and small pebble beach. It's staffed with a housekeeper, concierge/host and a cleaner all season and additionally in high season, a Chef and assistant.
Affectionately known as 'Kensington-on Sea', North-East Corfu is littered with small bays, coves and has a stunning coastline, best explored by boat. The bustling Kassiopi, is a short drive away or a 10-15 minute walk, and as a great choice of tavernas, bars and small shops. For something quieter, the sleepy fishing villages of Kalami of the BBC's, ' The Durrells' fame and San Stefano, can be easily reached a short drive further south.
Located 3 minutes' walk from Villa Peia is the smaller, Villa Ikos sleeping 6 people, which can be taken together with Peia to then sleep 20 guests. Although located within the same 5 acres estate, the layout of both the gardens and pools ensures that each villa functions independently and offers optimum privacy and seclusion.
The courtyard layout suits the villa perfectly and offers ample space inside and out for 14 people. Five of the seven bedrooms, including the family suite are located on the lower ground floor and all have stunning sea and garden views. The first and second bedroom, are located off the courtyard. A twin near the main entrance, which is ideally suited for older children and a gorgeous master bedroom, aptly named the Tower Room, which as an additional mezzanine office space and dual aspect views. All bedrooms are named after a Greek God or Goddess, adding to the charm and warmth of the elegant interior. Each room feels spacious and comes fully equipped with wardrobes, bathrooms with walk-in showers, air-conditioning/ceiling fans, hair-dryers, satellite television, dressing gowns, Ortigia bathroom products, English sprung mattresses, safe’s, torches and wither a shared or private terrace.
A nanny and baby-sitting can be provided on request.
In addition to the seven bedrooms, there is a stunning, large sitting room with combined dining space for 14 guests, which lead directly onto a beautiful, spacious terrace or through to the main kitchen at the rear. Both kitchen and terrace lead you to a covered outdoor dining terrace, which is suitable for up to 20 guests. The highlight of Villa is the self-contained pool house, complete with 20m x 9m saltwater infinity pool and children's pool, changing room and toilet/shower room, kitchen and lounge sofas and Corfiot barbecue. The far-reaching views of Albania and the Greek coastline, coupled with the sumptuous soft seating areas, Sonos music system, drinks fridge and ice machine, create a perfect space for entertaining. If you need to work, there is a fully-equipped home office, Wifi available throughout the villa and for children, an uber cool TV and gaming room to keep them entertained. To complete the home-from-home experience, there is a sauna, running machine, multi-gym and a cross trainer on the lower ground floor. For the more active, there's plenty of equipment at guests disposal, including a pool table, table football and table tennis, outdoor jacuzzi, boules court, Hobie Cat Outfitter kayak, Naish paddle boards, wake board, fishing rods, life Jackets and snorkeling equipment. There is also a beach and boat mooring to the south of the villa, which is shared with Villa Ikos next door.
Villa Peia has all the ingredients for a relaxing and sumptuous stay and your concierge can arrange a number of exciting activities, including private music, art or Greek cookery lessons, photography courses, scuba diving, fishing, horse riding and tennis to name but a few. If you wish to explore further, try some sailing, hire a mountain-bike, hike with a private guide, take a day trip to Paxos or paraglide at Pantokrator Mountain. North Corfu has some lovely villages to visit, including Kassiopi with its bustling marina and tavernas, Kalami, the sleepy village made famous from the BBC series, The Durrells, plus the pretty fishing village of Agios Stefanos. All of these can be accessed by road, but why not experience why so many come to Corfu each year and explore the coastline, with its many bays and coves and hire a Yacht or Sunseeker for the day. In Greece, no coastline or beach is deemed private, so there's plenty to see!
The following services are included. For six days of the week, Concierge assistance is provided for all guests, with a housekeeper and second maid providing day to day cleaning for up to 32 hours per week. There is also a grounds person and general handyman who replenish logs for the fire and keeps both the pool and grounds tidy. Additionally in July and August a Chef and Chef's assistant are included to cook and prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for six days of the week. This includes shopping for both food and drink (groceries and beverages are paid locally). Outside of July and August a cook can be requested for an additional charge. There is a postal box in the courtyard, with a daily collection by the housekeeper.
Linen is changed twice weekly and the following children’s equipment is provided on a complimentary basis; cot, bed guards, stair guards, intercom, play den and highchairs.
In addition to the above the following services can be arranged and charged locally: Personal Trainer, yoga, Pilates training, Massage therapist, beauty treatments and hairdressing, laundry and dry cleaning, Doctor and pharmacy service, Wine Cellar – stocked with wine, prosecco and champagne. Arrival grocery and beverage service and outside of July & August, a local cook or chef (must be requested at time of booking). Outside Catering for special occasions.
Location & Directions
Villa Peia forms part of the Kassiopia Estate, which is 5-10 minutes from the center of Kassiopia, on the northeast coast of Corfu.
When to go
The climate in Corfu, is warm and sunny from April/May to October. At the beginning of the season the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. If it rains it usually clears quickly. September and October are normally pleasurable months.
