Situated on the small private Petrochori Estate, between the fishing villages of Ipsos and Barbati, Villa Omina boasts some of the best views of any villa in Corfu, and in particular Corfu town which can be seen across the bay. Designed to a high standard with an elegant and contemporary interior, the villa has five bedrooms and works really well for families or groups traveling together.
Set on three floors, the ground floor, open plan living/dining room has a country-styled kitchen to the rear and a separate king/twin en-suite, with direct access onto the terrace and pool. On the first floor, there is the master king suite, which has an en-suite bath, sofa plus two sets of doors onto the balcony. The balcony, which is shared with the another king bedroom next door spans the width of the house, giving stunning, far reaching views over Ipsos and Corfu town. On the top floor, there are two en-suite, twin-bedded rooms, perfect for children, which coupled with a shared lounge area, TV, DVD and fridge, make an ideal space for children to relax and play.
The outside space at Villa Omina is impressive, with comfy sofas, a long dining table, plenty of sun beds for everyone and a beautiful infinity pool, all of which provide the perfect backdrop to the really stunning views. From the villa, there's a private drive that leads to a secured gate, which provides direct access to a stony beach on one side and a sunbathing jetty with ladder to the other side. The pretty access steps are quite steep, so might not suit everyone but the charming infinity pool and wide terrace more than make up for this, and are the perfect place to soak up the sun.
5 minutes drive south, takes you to Ipsos village, which has a beach, some tavernas, restaurants, shops and a small Marina where you can hire a boat. Drive 5 minutes north and you reach Barabti, which has a number of restaurants and shops straddling the main road. Kassiopi, the main town in north Corfu, can be reached in around 20 minutes by car and has a lively, bustling atmosphere day or night. A popular resort, it’s a good place to spend the day buying souvenirs or sampling the freshly caught local fish. The pretty, but quieter fishing villages of San Stefano or Kalami, are on the way to Kasisopi and make for a great stopover for lunch.
The White House in Kalami, was once home to Nobel Prize nominated author Lawrence Durrell, as portrayed in the recent BBC series “The Durrells” and his brother Gerald, author of My Family and Other Animals, who both lived in Kalami between 1925-1939.
The interior is light and welcoming with all the comforts you would expect from home. The main entrance is on the first floor, which is the best access for luggage once you’ve parked your car on the gravel area, near the villa. Equally, there are access steps via the garage to the terrace and pool area, if you've been to the beach. Both the master bedrooms on the first floor have king-size beds, whilst the downstairs master can be set-up for a king or twin. The two rooms on the second floor have twin-bedded rooms. All rooms are en-suite, with the master suite having a bath/shower. There are Apivita toiletries in all the bathrooms, towels and bathrobes in all the rooms and separate towels for the pool and beach. Each bedroom has a television, except the second floor twin-bedded room, where the television and DVD forms part of the small chill out area and comes complete with a comfy sofa and fridge. Perfect for a late night movie!
|Master King Suite||
Located on the first floor, the master bedroom suite has a king-size bed, comfy sofa to one end, plenty of wardrobe space and a lovely en-suite bath/shower room. Two doors lead onto the balcony, which had two chairs to enjoy the views over the pool and Ipsos.

On the ground floor next to the lounge is another king room that can also be made up as a twin, so ideal for grandparents or older children. There is ample wardrobe space and an en-suite bath/shower, plus patio doors leading directly onto the terrace and pool area.
One of two twin-bedded rooms, both of which have low height windows, metal shutters, an en-suite shower room. This room has a fabric wardrobe system and a water tank in the bathroom. Both rooms share a small lounge/chill out area, which has a comfy long sofa, TV/DVD and fridge. There is another low window in the lounge area with shutter, which a small child could fit through. Younger children should be supervised.
The second en-suite twin-bedded room, but with a standard wardrobe.
There is an infinity pool with shower, loungers and parasols, plus a gas and brick barbecue which can be used on request. At the bottom of the drive is a pretty stony beach, plus a swimming jetty with ladder access, shower and separate loungers. Both of these are free to use for guests. These are accessed via a heavy gated door and steep steps, which provide security to the Villa from the beach. There is access to another beach, which is shared with neighbors and has an easier approach via a path and gate.
The villa has air-conditioning and features Wifi throughout, including a good reception on both beaches and the small jetty. There are televisions in all rooms, except two bedrooms, there are also two DVDs. The televisions broadcast both Greek Satellite stations and the BBC World Service.
The pool and beach provide plenty of time for fun and relaxation but should you wish to explore, north Corfu has some lovely villages to visit, including Kassiopi with its small marina, Kalami, the sleepy village made famous from the BBC series, The Durrells, plus the pretty fishing village of Agios Stefanos. All of these can be accessed by road, but why not experience why so many come to Corfu each year and explore the coastline, with its many bays and coves and hire a boat from Leons in Ipsos. In Greece, no coastline or beach is deemed private, so there's plenty to see! Your villa manager at Omina can arrange this for you.
